Photo by DARREN STAPLES/AFP via Getty Images I... really don’t quite know what to say about that match. Tottenham Hotspur started their match against Liverpool at Anfield without any midfield passers, played hard (if ineffective) football for about 15 minutes, conceded relatively early, completely fell apart going down 4-0, and still somehow managed to make things interesting by scoring two second half goals in a 4-2 loss. The vibes looked murderous for a while, and then they just sort of... came back a little bit, thanks in part due to Oliver Skipp putting in a real performance (and earning a ..read more

Photo by Stu Forster/Getty Images Well, I guess it at least wasn’t as bad as it looked like it was going to be? After a gauntlet of tough fixtures in recent weeks, the last thing Tottenham Hotspur needed was an away trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool. Spurs’ record on Merseyside is well documented, with Anfield an unhappy hunting ground for the Lilywhites. Unfortunately, Sunday’s match was not the fixture where that history was forgotten, with Spurs unable to overcome a Liverpool side that at times looked devastating with some devastating individual performances of their own. Ange Postecoglo ..read more

Photo by Nigel French/Sportsphoto/Allstar via Getty Images Another cursed fixture... good times! The last few weeks haven’t been a fun time for Tottenham Hotspur fans, and it’s unfortunately not about to get any better, with an away trip to Anfield the next match up on the fixture list. You could say this match is the proverbial fire to one’s frying pan, with Spurs’ awful away record at Stamford Bridge matched by their results historically at Liverpool. Ange Postecoglou therefore will have a mountain to climb heading into this match. The squad will have potentially dropped their heads followin ..read more

Photo by Antony Jones/Getty Images for TUMI Hi, folks! Yep, you read that byline correctly, it’s me. I’m home from the hospital as of yesterday and am recovering. I’m certainly not moving around very fast right now and even typing on a keyboard is tiring, but at least I’m home. Still planning on taking it easy, so don’t expect to see me around THAT much in the next few. No, I didn’t watch the Chelsea match. Why, did something happen? Anyway, here’s your open thread for today’s Saturday of Premier League action. If you’re up early, you can catch Tottenham Women’s away match at Everton. Otherwis ..read more

Photo by Andrew Powell/Liverpool FC via Getty Images The final few weeks will be a harsh ending for a team that has made real strides this season. The hunt for the Champions League is essentially settled, so Tottenham Hotspur is mostly just playing for pride now. Technically there is a defense of fifth place with Manchester United and Newcastle creeping up the table — and the Manchester City tie has some importance for Spurs for some less pure reasons — but really the final four matches are basically academic. Unfortunately, one of the contests remaining is a trip to Anfield, a place where Tot ..read more

Photo by Peter Bischoff/Getty Images Look, I just want to sleep, okay? Well, that wasn’t fun. Tottenham Hotspur crumbled against possibly the worst Chelsea side in years, and the performance has started raising questions among many in the Spurs fandom. While I still think it’s way too early to start casting doubts on Ange Postecoglou’s long-term future as Spurs boss, the constant questioning brings to mind several conversations lately with my eldest daughter. Or more accurately, interrogations. Why? Why? Why? Why? Kids are wonderful, fulfilling, and can add so much to your life. They can also ..read more

Photo by Ryan Pierse/Getty Images Spurs blank third time in less than two months Another date at Stamford Bridge and another defeat for Tottenham Hotspur as the club goes 1-11-20 in its last 32 visits to its London rivals, dropping Thursday’s fixture 2-0. Only being shutout twice all season, Spurs came under a lot of pressure early from a Chelsea side that was riddled with injuries but the Starting XI they put forth found a way to put the nail in the coffin on another disastrous day for Spurs. Chelsea had a big chance early as Pape Sarr gave the ball away and Nicolas Jackson ran onto the ball ..read more

Photo by Catherine Ivill - AMA/Getty Images Who’s your daddy now? If you were to point out one fixture that seemingly derailed Tottenham Hotspur’s progress this season under Ange Postecoglou, it was the match against London rivals Chelsea. After Spurs came out firing early, a succession of red cards and injuries could have turned the match into a thumping the other way. Instead, the Lilywhites were able to hold their heads high as they continued to take the fight to the Blues in near hopeless circumstances. Unfortunately, the casualties from that fixture caused Spurs to drop down the table, an ..read more

You can check it out here (updated through March 11). This is a hoddle I’ve been saving for a couple months now. I’m only just getting to it because I’m not sure what else to write about.
