The Seven Basic Quality Improvement Tools were suggested by Kaoru Ishikawa to be used by the Quality Circles:
(i) Cause-and-Effect Diagram or Fishbone Diagram
(ii) Pareto Charts
(iii) Process mapping, data gathering tools such as Check Sheets
(iv) Graphical tools such as Histograms
(v) Run Charts and Control Charts
(vi) Scatter Plots and Correlation Analysis, and
(vii) Flowcharts.
