I DON'T THINK I NEED PROGRESS THIS YEAR.

It's 15 days into the new year and I really don't seem to have gotten over the previous year. That sounds absurd right? I know. I will tell you about what I am feeling.  The new year came and there's less hype about it. Just like 2020 taught us to expect less from what's unknown, I think everyone came into the new year whispering their resolutions to themselves alone with a lot of silent prayers. There is less post on 'new year resolution', 'new year, new me', among others. It is most likely people will spend each day as it comes and that's why I am writing this to tell you, 'you ca ..read more

YOU MIGHT NEED A BREAK TOO

YOU MIGHT NEED A BREAK TOO. For a couple of weeks, I deliberately stayed away from certain routines, especially the ones that I have committed almost all my life to. I'm talking about a couple of activities related to my career, passion and enterprise. A curious friend sent a funny text amidst my 'silence'. She asked verbatim, 'Bosun, it's been a while you posted write-ups or held any program. Abi o ti n lose focus ni? (or are you losing focus?). I smiled and simply responded, 'No, I am adjusting my focus'. This post is quite a sensitive one. I have decided to be blunt, confronting cert ..read more

THE STRENGTH THAT BROUGHT YOU HERE MAY NOT TAKE YOU THERE

Undoubtedly, life is in phases. One phase of life prepares you for another. To thrive in a new phase of your life, you may need an entirely new approach and skill set.  The strength that brought you to this phase may not necessarily take you to the next.  All my life, I had wanted to be an athlete. Few health recommendations are enough reasons to let go of that dream but there is one thing I learnt while building that dream, it takes more than speed to get the medal.  For instance, in an 100-meter race, every athlete doesn't complete the race with the same energy gauge they ..read more

NOW THAT YOU SAID YES, WHAT CHANGED?

Sequel to my last post tagged 'Now that she said yes, what changed?' I got a lot of positive feedback from 'my sisters in the Lord?' but forgive me... I want to turn the table. While the chase was on.. You were quick to 'urgently need 2k' Just while he was still trying to convince you, you were quick to answer his calls and slow to pick offences at anything he did. He took you on expensive dates just to let you know he wants to take care of you. You didn't go alone, you went with two other friends who 'wanted to meet him'. You spent hours talking over the phone. Well, he did most of th ..read more

Just few weeks ago, 'you go slap police for her sake' Just  few weeks ago, ''you go go to court for her case'.  About a month ago, you were singing, 'wetin I can't do, for my baby my baby' About a month ago,  you were 'beginning to fall in love' It's barely a year that she became your LOML. It's barely a year that she became the 'queen of your kingdom' What changed? What's wrong with the constant good morning texts?  Why are your good night messages on sabbatical?  Why do you suddenly get busy?  Why do her calls now come in at the wrong time?  Did yo ..read more

MORE WON'T MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER

I can remember Oliver Twist 'dared for more' and Pepsi instigates us to 'ask for more'. But the question is,  do you really need more?  Let me break the ice, 'Until you appreciate what you currently have, more won’t make your life better.' Have you forgotten the old saying that,  'a bird at hand,  is better than a thousand in the forest?' Some of us worry too much about getting more, that we place no value on that which we have. Many of us have lost little things which could grow into something massive while we chase the supposedly bigger ones that were never existi ..read more

To Whom It May Concern: Episode 5. YOU SHOULDN'T DIE FOR SOMEONE YOU LOVE, THEY NEED YOU TO STAY ALIVE  Apparently, one of 'the best selling lies' on the surface of the earth is 'I will die for you'. This is one of the lies concocted from the pit of hell served hot to our ladies by some garrulous men when they are trying all means to win their heart.  In reality,  no right thinking guy in this dispensation will die for a lady. You don't need to ask about me. I'm neither Romeo nor Jack in the blockbuster Titanic movie. However, I personally think love is not what we die fo ..read more

To Whom It May Concern: Episode 4 TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE, THAT IS IF THE HEADS DO NOT GROW FROM THE SAME NECK Yes, if those heads grow from the same neck, they are possibly not better than one. When an empty mind teams with an empty mind, content is not birthed but emptiness upon emptiness! Your excuse for going into that relationship is that, two heads are better than one. Who told you?  Take time to find your purpose and empower your mind, else, you will end up picking an empty mind like you. Empty minds attract themselves, you know. Work on yourself, don't pick a partn ..read more

1000 Intentions is not equal to 1 Action

To Whom It May Concern: Episode 3 1000 Intentions is not equal to 1 Action. Aren't you tired of, 'I have intentions to', 'I am planning to'? When exactly do you want to act? When? How long do you want to keep fantasizing about success in your mind without taking practical steps to achieve it? My dear, 1000 intentions are not not equal to 1 action. Take it of leave it. To take action is not easy, just like getting winning an election in Nigeria when you are not in APC or PDP. But there are four things you need to take any action; 1. Conviction If you are not convinced or convicted ab ..read more
