The tiles in the bathroom, the floors, the limescale that builds up by the taps, the cobwebs and of course, the kitchen splash-back needs to be cleaned particularly well! Winter is well and truly upon us in Australia, and although it is not nearly as cold here as in other parts of the world during winter, we still need some winter warmers! 1. Tea, lots of tea! Tea keeps your hands warm and warms up your whole body. It’s comforting, easy to drink and there’s so many flavours! My favourites are: T2 MELBOURNE BREAKFAST – loose leaf – $22.00 – this has been my favourite tea for years! JUST ROOIBOS AFRICAN TEA – $6.00 – you can have this before bed because it’s naturally decaffeinated! TETLEY TEA – $3.30 – it’s a classic, you definitely can’t go wrong with some good ..read more

Printable Checklist Below: Moving Out ChecklistDownload There is so much you need to remember when you’re moving out for the first time. My husband and I were so excited to go to Woolies to get a few things we needed when we just moved in, like a broom, dustpan and brush, bins, bin liners, mop, spray and wipe, washing up liquid, bread, fruit and the list goes on (the excitement hasn’t worn off and I don’t think it ever will, grocery shopping is the best hehe).  I thought it would be a nice idea to create a checklist as I think it would be very helpful if you are moving out as it will mak ..read more

When we moved into our home, our pendant light above the staircase was old and very discoloured so we looked around for a new light shade. We went to Beacon Lighting but they were all over $220. So I did some more searching and found that Kmart has clip on pendant lights so we decided to get the black version. We replaced the old lamp shade with this one and it was only $20! Personally, I am really happy with the replacement. The only down side is that ideally we would have changed the electrical light socket and wiring too but that would have been much more expensive. So I think the ..read more

I’m probably missing a few things from that list, but my point remains the same, your friends and family may generously offer furniture and homey things when you move out. Mistakes happen, whether we’re moving furniture and we scratch a beloved painting, or whatever it may be – don’t stress, it can be fixed! Inspiration and how to below. HOW TO FIX: 1. Take Your Time A painting is a work of art and you need to remember the love and effort that went in to the painting, as well as the thought that went in to purchasing the painting in the first place.
