I wrote a piece on my personal blog in 2014 about real beauty. I was of the firm opinion that real beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. I won a prize for the blog. 9 years have gone by. Today I would say real beauty really lies in your own eyes. It’s how you look at yourself. Of course the compliments from the hubby are always welcome.
Sharing the piece below.

I don’t know when they crept up on me, these lines. Across my forehead, around my eyes, on my neck. I looked mournfully at my dressing table adorned with jars and bottles of various creams, each promising younger looking skin ..read more

A friend asked me the other day why I was obsessed with women working and why a large part of my content seemed to focus on getting women to work. She seemed annoyed. “It’s my choice to focus on home and children.”
I was taken aback because clearly I had not been able to communicate my objective behind some of my content.
It’s not about working women. It’s not about fat salaries. And it’s not about running 100 Cr companies.
It’s about being a woman with a purpose! But the SIZE of that purpose doesn’t matter.
It doesn’t matter how big or small your goal is or how many lives you touch or how muc ..read more

In March 2020, I lost my superpower.
As a speaker/trainer I have mastered the craft of speaking to an audience. Whether body language, communication skills, drama, I’ve used them all to engage even enthral the audience.
And then in March 2020, I found myself speaking to a screen, trying to engage with people who chose to hide behind shut video cameras; grappling with technology; wondering where to draw energy from.
By a stroke of luck, one day I decided to go LIVE on my social media channels – Instagram and Facebook to begin with. It was a result of boredom, anxiety at being under lockdown and ..read more

As an entrepreneur, you can work anytime from anywhere.
This seems to be one of the most attractive propositions of going solo or ‘starting something of your own’.
Haha!
Initially when I went solo, I was so conditioned to 9-5 timings that I actually felt guilty if I took time out for a pedicure in the afternoon or a no agenda coffee with a friend during ‘work hours’.
It took me a long time to break through the conditioning that certain hours are meant ONLY for work.
I soon realized that work has to be outcome based and not time based. However, it is not easy to inculcate that discipline into y ..read more

I’m a Diva!
Well…atleast in my own eyes. I’m 32 years old, weigh exactly 73 kilos, don’t even have a great hairstyle… but I’m a Diva.
I have a fairly ordinary life….by that I mean a very ok job, a loving husband, complete and total inability to wear high heels for more than 2 hrs at a stretch and a strange knack of buying the wrong shade of lipsticks/nailpaint.
I have at least 2 pairs of jeans so old that even moths are refusing to hole up in them, which I have retained because I am hopeful that in the next 3 months I shall be able to f ..read more

If managing disruption and change are signs of a true #EntrepreNaari, Dipika Singh was already there at the age of 7. Her father had a job that required their family to move frequently, and unlike most kids who’d resent the constant upheaval, Dipika loved every bit of it — the new places, new friends, new schools. ‘That never let me develop a comfort zone, and it gave me the skills to deal with and connect with different kinds of people at a very early age.’
Dipika loved speaking in public and engaging with audiences — and she was very good at it. She hosted shows and MC-ed at events, but ..read more

Before anything else, preparation is the key to success – Alexander Graham Bell
Everything requires preparation. Particularly job interviews.
Preparation does NOT mean you are showcasing an inauthentic self. Preparation only ensures that you bring your best version to the interview.
So what goes into preparing for an interview?
I would divide interview preparation into 2 easy parts
Generic Preparation
This is preparation that you have to do before any interview. This is really a part of grooming and working on your personality, body language, general awareness and knowledge. This is irrespec ..read more
