For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. In the life and outreach of Devotional Treasures I keep a close eye on where readers are from. I am encouraged and blessed by both the numbers and the nationality of readers; particularly of some who are from countries known to persecute Christians. This year (2024), I have seen a marked increase in readers from such countries. The numbers are small, but they started from zero. Russia is a country with new readers in 2024. Therefore, I want to highlight some of these countries in coming posts for your prayer diary, beginning with Russia. “Christians within Russia who are not part of the Russi ..read more

God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said, “Jacob, Jacob.” And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you a great nation there. I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph will close your eyes.” Genesis 46:1-4 (NASB) I was reading ..read more

I was reminded in recent news that this is only going to get worse; in a few days new laws come into force in Scotland which will encourage the enemies of God’s Word to call the police against any offence that they encounter, no matter how frivolous it may be. Thus, I was reminded of this old post from a year ago. But Jews came ..read more

Slioch & Loch Maree, Highlands, Scotland. Photography courtesy of Ben Bremner, https://www.facebook.com/ben.bremner3 Zaccheus was trying to see who Jesus was, and was unable because of the crowd, for he was small in stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree in order to see Him, for He was about to pass through that way. When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” And he hurried and came down and received Him gladly. When they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, “He has gone to ..read more

Photography courtesy of Ben Bremner, https://www.facebook.com/ben.bremner3 The disciples went and did just as Jesus had instructed them, and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their coats on them; and He sat on the coats. Most of the crowd spread their coats in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them in the road. The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!” When He had entered Jer ..read more

Bridge of Earn, Perthshire, Scotland. Photo by Chloë Forbes-Kindlen on Unsplash and that most of the brethren, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear. Philippians 1:14 (NASB) I had the honour to listen to Nicky Cruz give his testimony in Dunfermline one night, the huge church had standing room only.
