LONG TERM TRAVEL AND POOR MENTAL HEALTH

I'm back in the UK after almost a year of non-stop travel. But don't worry, I'll be jetting off again soon, I just need some time at home to heal. Travelling for such a long time has taken its toll on my mental health, and the anxiety I thought I left behind on British soil has reared its ugly head once more. Now I'm not stupid, I know travel can't cure all, but I think a small part of me believed that by leaving behind the regular things that cause stress (work, living with parents, etc) I might be able to finally free myself of my unstable moods. Well unfortunately that hasn't been the case ..read more

Travelling Australia is a pretty expensive game. Even staying in hostels down under isn't cheap, but it is possible to find affordable or even free accommodation in Australia if you look in the right places. As someone who has found free rooms in Sydney on several occasions, I think I know a thing or two about tracking down a place to stay for freeeee. So here are my tried and tested methods to find free accommodation while travelling Australia...   View of Sydney Harbour and the Opera house from Sydney Harbour Bridge Pet Sitting In Australia it's very common for families to ask ..read more

Since moving to Sydney I have been dying to dive into the Sydney food scene and I couldn't think of a better place to start than The Brothers Cafe in Haymarket. The cafe is virtually Tiktok famous for it's fat fluffy soufflé pancakes which come in three different flavours. So I headed down to the central Sydney location so see what these wobbly desserts were all about... About to devour the humungous pancakes at The Brothers Cafe On arrival at The Brothers Cafe we did have to wait a little while to be seated (we chose to sit inside) but I guess this is the result of having such strong p ..read more

AD - This post is in collaboration with Welcome To Travel Choosing to move to Australia on a working holiday Visa was no easy thing. Hi my name is Grace and I couldn't care less about snazzy job titles, popping out a couple kids, and settling down in the suburbs. In fact the thought of striving to achieve these traditional life goals makes me feel very uneasy. That's not to say that I can't see some value in doing things "the old fashioned way", but it's not the life for me! Ever since I can remember all that I've wanted to do is see the world. My bucket list consist's of visiting elephant sanctuaries in Thailand, hiking Mount Kilimanjaro, and chucking tomatoes at strangers at La Tomatina Festival in Spain. But climbing th ..read more

North Wales is a beautiful region but not one known for its exotic cuisine. When you think of North Wales your mind would likely picture mountains and pretty little seaside towns, it's doubtful you'd even think about food, but let me tell you there is some good grub to be had there. Throughout my trip I munched my way across Conwy, Llandudno, Anglesey, and more, so here's everything I ate in North Wales... It's no secret that the Lake District is fast becoming one of my favourite places in the UK to visit. From the many beautiful waterfalls, to incredible walks, and more, the Lake District really has it all! There are so many fantastic areas to visit but Coniston Water in particular really stole my heart last summer.  It's the third largest of the Lakes meaning you've plenty of water to explore, or if keeping your feet on the land is more your thing, there's miles of breathtaking countryside to tour. Looking out across Coniston Water from the back of one of the Coniston Launch boats So w ..read more

* AD - PR Visit Estado Da India serves a creative blend of Portuguese and Indian dishes in tapas style portions. The restaurant which is still fairly new to Harborne caters to everyone with a selection of meaty options, veggie options, and dare I say it, even something for those who struggle with spice like myself.  Even the art on the menu's at Estado Da India make it clear this restaurant blends two cultures On my Sunday night visit I ate with a group of people who have very different tastes and so I'd like to think we put the Estado Da India menu to the ultimate test. We ordere ..read more
