Probably one of the hardest things about having twins was the time they spent in the NICU. Inevitably, at times you will feel confused, angry, frustrated, helpless, and scared. The first things that come to mind when people think about twins are the adorable matching outfits, the twin bond, and of course the endless supply of diapers. In reality it’s tough work! The probability of having twins early and having to spend time in the NICU is significantly high. It’s one of the first things the doctor will explain to you on top of all the other million risks involved in a twin pregnancy. If you ..read more

Best Car Seats for Twins
A Dad of Multiples

Having two babies at once is a huge blessing in itself but requires much more from the parents. It is determined that parents will spend approximately $1500 on clothes and diapers the first year of their twins’ lives. From what I have researched parents of twins will go through about 20-25 diapers a day for the first few weeks. That is a lot of crap! No pun intended. Not only will parents face emotional and physical challenges it clearly cost a lot for twins. With two car seats, two cribs, clothes and so much more you can start kissing your play money goodbye. I hope to help you feel prepare ..read more

A Dad of Multiples was created for Dad’s to connect and share their experiences for raising multiples (twins, triplets, and more).  This site is a resource for new and veteran father’s out there. I believe that when we are willing to relate to our own personal tips & tricks we can learn from one another, especially when raising multiples.  I decided to create A Dad of Multiples (D.O.M.) when I noticed there really wasn’t a place for Dad’s. Most of the information out there is geared towards moms. As a new expecting dad of identical twins, I can honestly say that it does feel a ..read more

Twins. Quarantine. Work. Coronavirus…I Got This!
A Dad of Multiples

I’m about 2 months into quarantine all while juggling 6-month-old-twins. During this time I have been working remotely. Our boys demand around the clock attention, they couldn’t care less if I’m in a conference call, sending/replying to emails, or trying to make deadlines. During this uncertain time many of us are embracing a new reality. We’re social distancing, working from home, avoiding crowds, and doing our best to protect our family and friends. COVID-19 has wiped away many of our ordinary routines leaving us in a strange new lifestyle. Navigating this uncharted territory has be ..read more

Getting Formula Covered by Insurance

Baby Formula The price of infant formula continues to climb with parents having little choice but to fork out for what seems to be an endless cycle of purchasing these cans. Some mothers can’t produce milk even though they really want to and some families prefer formula due to its convenience or personal preference. And some children have conditions such as low birth weight, allergies, or a gastrointestinal disorder that requires formula feeding. Since our twins were born at 34 weeks they are on a fortified diet in order for them to gain weight since they were preemies, which meant that we h ..read more

A Sense of Hope Today is a huge milestone in our pregnancy we have hit 24 weeks. For those that don’t know, viability day, is the time if the babies would come early there is a high chance of them surviving outside the womb. Leah and I have been waiting so long for this day to come. I can already tell that a huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders. Ever since we found out we were pregnant we were both excited. But I knew she was still worried. The Heartbreak Last year we had a miscarriage and this took a huge toll on us, even more on her. Words cannot described how hopeless I felt, t ..read more

The Beginning This had to be one of the longest 3 months of my life. Now that we have officially announced that we are expecting twins, I wanted to share with you all what the first trimester was like from a dad’s perspective. Keeping this a secret was rather difficult. But thinking about it I might have let it slip to a few people. When we found out we were pregnant with the twins my wife was at 6 weeks. Even though most of the time we were happy throughout these first three months it was nerve wrecking. Already having a miscarriage last year this only put more stress on us. The risk of hav ..read more

The Only Child Before we found out we were expecting twins our dog Zena was the only child. I still remember the day we got her. At the time Leah and I were dating, she mentioned that she would like a dog. I was hesitant since we were in college and was worried that we wouldn’t have the time to properly care for a dog. You can guess what happened next. One day I asked her if she wanted to go to the humane society but told her we were only going to look. Well that didn’t really workout. When we got there I immediately knew we were going to be walking out of here with a new dog. I can’t even ..read more

Time Flies Where has the time gone? Parents always talk about how quickly time goes when you have kids and I can’t disagree with that. It seems like yesterday we just found out we were having twins. Our 12-week appointment was pretty exciting. The babies have grown quite a bit since their first ultrasound at 6 weeks from the size of a sweet pea to the size of a lime at 12 weeks. We love you Two! Once we got into the exam room, the doctor had my wife jump up onto the table and squirted the clear gel over her belly. This was all new for us. The first two ultrasounds were vaginal. Immedi ..read more
