Steelers shockingly decline Najee Harris' fifth-year option

In a stunning move, the Pittsburgh Steelers have declined the fifth-year option of running back Najee Harris, according to multiple reports. If it had been exercised, Harris would’ve been owed just $6.79 million for 2025, which seemed like a bargain given how he started his career. Instead, this season could be the last of Harris in the black & gold. Harris topped 1,000 rushing yards in his first three NFL seasons. He did it while dealing with multiple issues, questionable offensive line and quarterback play, and Matt Canada as an offensive coordinator. With the new offensive coordinator ..read more

Ya know, not everything that gets talked about in NFL meets needs to be made public. Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren went on Cam Heyward’s podcast and offered up some inside information about new quarterback Justin Fields that should be just enough to get all of Steeler Nation whipped into a frenzy. According to Warren, special teams coordinator Danny Smith has discussed the possibility of using Fields as a kicker returner this season. #Steelers RB Jaylen Warren says their special teams coordinator discussed the possibility of having Justin Fields return kicks under the new kic ..read more

Pro Football Network offers puzzling observation about Steelers roster
Steelers Wire

The Pittsburgh Steelers had a strong free agency and even better 2024 NFL draft. Nevertheless, we all acknowledge there is still work to be done if the Steelers want to seriously compete in the AFC this season. But we have to respectfully disagree with the opinion of Pro Football Network on what they consider the Steelers biggest roster weakness after the draft. They chose quarterback and this one has us scratching our heads. The Steelers gutted out their quarterback depth chart swapping Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph and Mitch Trubisky for Russell Wilson, Justin Fields and Kyle Allen. This is a ..read more

No team in the NFL spends money on defense like the Pittsburgh Steelers. Here are our projected defensive starters on defense for the first week of the season ..read more

Steelers rookie C Zach Frazier praises those who came before
Steelers Wire

Zach Frazier has enormous shoes to fill. Once upon a time, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense line was hailed almost as high as their defense. The unit is what helped Ben Roethlisberger and Terry Bradshaw do what they did best. It’s been quite some time since the Steelers lived up to that tradition, ignoring the need for generational players and filling the gaps with aging veterans. Finally, in 2023, the offensive line rebuild started to take shape with the hire of trenches guru Andy Weidl. Weidl was responsible for selecting players that earned the Philadelphia Eagles one of the best units in t ..read more

No excuses for Steelers QBs Russell Wilson, Justin Fields

Everywhere you look, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2024 draft haul is hailed as one of the league’s best. And it’s no surprise why. While a class can’t be fairly judged for another few seasons, on the surface, the Steelers hit the bullseye with nearly every pick. Without moving an inch, Omar Khan and Andy Weidl scored a rare blend of best player available meets need, meets fit, meets value. And that’s just with their offensive line. With an eye toward the future, they snagged three defenders who can work their way up to starting roles. There are simply no excuses for quarterbacks Russell Wilson and ..read more

NFL reporter narrows down Steelers 'significant playmaker' news
Steelers Wire
by Allison Koehler

Rumors that the Pittsburgh Steelers were adding a big-time wide receiver had quieted a bit during the NFL draft. But it all came flooding back today when Bryant McFadden stirred the pot with news that the Steelers are “very close to landing a significant playmaker.” One player that’s been tied to Pittsburgh this offseason is Denver Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton. Mike Klis, longtime Broncos reporter for 9 News Denver, laid Sutton rumors to rest: “It’s not Courtland. No plans to trade him. As Paton and Payton let Broncoland know in recent weeks, Sutton in good standing.” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler ..read more
