As the clocks sprung forward, ushering in longer days and shorter nights, I found myself reflecting on the metaphorical significance of this annual ritual. Daylight Saving Time, with its abrupt adjustment of time, mirrors the inevitable changes we encounter in life. It's a reminder that change is constant and often beyond our control. Yet, it's how we adapt to these changes that truly defines our resilience. The transition to Daylight Saving Time can be jarring, disrupting our internal rhythms and leaving us feeling groggy and disoriented. Similarly, life often throws unexpected curveballs, te ..read more

Daylight Savings Time ends tomorrow and just as many of us are preparing to "FALL BACK" in time, we should also prepare to "FALL BACK" in theory. Falling back from people, places, and things that use and devalue you is essential for your well-being. Here are a few ways that have helped me "FALL BACK" in areas: 1. Recognize the Signs: Be aware of the signs of being used or devalued in a relationship, partnership, friendship, or kinship. These signs can include feeling constantly drained, taken for granted, or disrespected. 2. Evaluate the "SHIPS": Take a step back and assess the relationship, p ..read more

RESILIENTones✨ Seasons change, and so do people. Just as nature transforms, we too grow, evolve, and adapt throughout our lives. Losing friends as you evolve is a natural part of life. As you grow, your interests, values, and priorities may change, leading to differences between you and your friends. It's important to remember that this doesn't diminish the value of the time you spent together or the bond you once shared. Sometimes, people outgrow friendships, and that's perfectly okay. It creates space for new connections that align with your current self and interests. Embracing change and a ..read more

Change is hard. Change is frustrating. But, there is ONE thing I can guarantee, CHANGE is INEVITABLE. Change signifies growth. Perhaps one of the hardest thing to do is change. Adapting to change and compromising for change is too different things. I know you are reading this and going "ummmm ok but, wait....what?" As you can probably tell by now, I am completely transparent. Fact is, I hate change. I love consistency and when it is compromised with change, I am all over the place. What I had to realize is that my resistance to change had me in a place of stagnation. My lack of desire to move ..read more

What Did You Expect?

Daily, I ask myself (and the Lord of course) HOWWWWWWWW!!!!! WHHHYYYYYY!!! I think he gets a laugh or two out of it. But I am so serious when I ask him because I really want to know HOW and WHY! I ask him about the changes in my businesses, my worth, my marriages, my kids, my city, my state, my family, my friendships... like everything. I remember having a very hard day last week and instead of crying and I literally wrote God a note. In the middle of the note, he said "WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?" Immediately puzzled, I responded in my "back in the day" attitude "DUDE, NOT THIS". This is TOOOOOOO M ..read more

I know that sometimes it can feel as though you are working and working and no one notices your effort. I understand that you can go above and beyond without a token of thanks or appreciation. In fact, I have seen individuals give their all to companies and organizations and within a short week or after a bad day, it was as if that person was never successful. Today, I want to strengthen, empower, enlighten, and re-affirm each of you that you are important. You do matter. You are significant and I SEE YOU. I see you working your business. I see you posting your moves and endeavors. I see you ..read more

It is already the 6th day of the 2023 and people are already stressing about what they haven't done or accomplished. Hello, I'm people. By now, I would have written out my goals for each of my businesses, my personal life, and financial aspects. Instead, I am winging it, lol. For New Years Eve, I decided against cooking the traditional "Hoppin Johns", Black-eyed peas, and cornbread. Instead, I cooked nothing. My family and I went out to dinner prior to church and I made breakfast the next morning. I was so bound by tradition that I actually thought that something weird was going to happen to ..read more

It Hurts, But It Helps.

Wow! I was so sadden by the loss of DJ "Twitch". I think I was more sad for his wife and children more than I was sad that he was in such a dark place. The happiness that he invoked to so many was overshadowed by the pain he actually felt. It made me think about how many people walk around daily in the façade of happiness when they really are not. It is troubling at times when we have to "MASK" how we feel out of fear that we will be labeled. We also do this because we simply don't trust others enough to be truly honest. Think about all the times someone asked you "How are you?" but walked by ..read more

Easier said than done, right. I was talking to a great friend of mine and his words to me were "you have to relax". I looked at him in a state of confusion and uttered the words "dude, do you see all the stuff I have going on". His response was "how much of that really involves you. How much of it can you control". His response upset me and gut-punched me into reality at the same time. I had so much that I was carrying in my bag that I did not put there. I allowed others to put it there and take up space in my head for no reason. Well to be honest there was a reason. I felt like I could handl ..read more
