Love can take us to the most unexpected places, and that’s exactly what happened to Lauren and Lee. They decided to take a boat to a remote island for their wedding day, just the two of them and two friends. It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony with the summer sun shining down on them. Lauren wore flowers in her hair, and Lee opted for a casual outfit, which perfectly suited the island’s laid-back vibe. After exchanging their vows, they spent the rest of the day exploring the island. They walked along the beaches, climbed the rocky shores, and even found a treehouse that they climbed into ..read more

I met Madison and Greg in Crested Butte for their engagement session earlier this year. We had SO much fun exploring one of my favorite places here in Colorado. And for their wedding, we went to another one of my favorite places (where I used to live)–the Olympic Peninsula in Washington! More specifically, they got married at Fern Acres in Forks. Which is perhaps one of the cutest small venues in Washington. I stopped by Mocha Motion (Ryan’s favorite coffee shop) before heading over to Fern Acres in the late morning to meet Madison and Greg. They both were super excited and nervous and all of ..read more

Madison and Greg drove down from Wyoming to explore one of my favorite mountain towns for their adventure engagement session: Crested Butte! It truly feels like you’re driving in Switzerland when you make the drive from Gunnison into Crested Butte. I’m always so excited to share this amazing town and all of the trails! This time of year, the wildflowers were just starting to bloom for the season. So we were lucky to find tons of avalanche lilies blooming in an aspen forest! I really enjoyed getting to know Madison and Greg! I am documenting their wedding later this year. And I always love gett ..read more

This is the second day of Elizabeth and Alison’s two-day micro wedding/elopement! Rock climbing has been such a big part of Elizabeth and Alison’s relationship. Alison has always loved climbing, pushing her limits, and definitely doesn’t mind heights! And Alison brought Elizabeth into climbing, biking, and all sorts of outdoor adventures with her. Spending time outdoors is a big part of their relationship. So naturally, they wanted to incorporate climbing into their two-day wedding. We met at one of their favorite climbing spots (and I believe the first place Alison ever brought Elizabeth to c ..read more

Elizabeth and Alison planned an adventurous two-day elopement in Leavenworth, Washington. They wanted to hike at sunrise, have a ceremony with friends and family, and go to one of their favorite climbing spots the next day. It was a combination of doing the things they love to do together while bringing the people they love along to celebrate. These two were so adventurous and loving. It was easy to see just how excited they were from the moment I met them. It was early October, which in Washington, usually means rain and super cold weather. But Elizabeth and Alison had a crystal clear night s ..read more

Daisy and Brandon live in the Seattle area and frequently take weekend trips to their favorite bouldering spot outside of Leavenworth, Washington. So it made perfect sense that they would want to go back to Leavenworth for their micro wedding, and of course, go bouldering! They started their day at a cute cabin outside of Leavenworth where they got dressed and had their first look. Daisy and Brandon were adorable and I’m so glad they took a moment to be together before meeting up with the rest of their family. I think Weston (their doggy) appreciated getting more lovings before the ceremony to ..read more

Ciera and Bryce were SO excited to explore a brand new place out West for their wedding day. They decided on the jagged peaks of Grand Teton National Park for their micro wedding. It’s an incredibly special place to me since this was the first place I lived with Ryan. So I’m always willing to leave Colorado and drive up to the Tetons to help couples celebrate and explore my favorite places I went out to their ceremony site early in the afternoon to paint en plein air before I met up with them. I found this spot while searching for a place to paint back in the day. And of course, these spots w ..read more

Melissa and Anthony visited Colorado early in their relationship and made a lot of special memories exploring the Rockies together. For their micro wedding, they wanted to come back to these beautiful mountains and celebrate with family. This would be a brand new experience out West for most of their family, and I couldn’t wait for them to come explore and celebrate! These two decided to get married in Breckenridge, which is always a great option for weddings. It’s not too far of a drive from Denver, has great mountain views, and it keeps everyone more comfortable. I take friends and family to ..read more

Amy and Brandon took a road trip across the country to elope in beautiful Crested Butte! I absolutely love it when couples road trip or give themselves time to explore and make even more memories in Colorado when they get married. These two brought their mountain bikes and their dog Grizz to celebrate and explore one of my favorite areas in the Rockies. They started their day in a more casual fashion, opting to ride their bikes through the aspens, hang out with Grizz, and eventually go up to an alpine lake to enjoy the sunshine. It can be really helpful to ease into your wedding day by doing t ..read more

Sarah and Michael drove up from California to get married in Olympic National Park! Even though it was October, it was a beautiful and sunny day out on the coast. While they were celebrating with family, they wanted to explore the Hoh Rainforest in the early morning to exchange private vows. I always recommend being able to see each other for a first look, private vows, or in some way spending time together to start your day. Usually this eases your nerves and helps you settle into the day. They saved their formal wedding suit and dress for their time with family. And surprised each other with ..read more
