Ciao, my friends! As promised, I’m back here and want to talk about Cacio e Pepe alla Romana with you this weekend.   I don’t know Cacio e Pepe until I put my feet on those little square shape “San Pietrini” in Rome. Surprisingly, over the growing time I’ve spent living here in Rome, I found that I order Cacio e Pepe alla Romana much more often than the famous Carbonara. Ciao, my friends! House Project 1.0: Abandoned Italian Villas for Sale?

If you have your eyes on Italy, probably, you have heard the news about the €1 house in Italy. Discussion around the abandoned Italian villas for sale never ends. I and Luigi set our feet on the way towards being a house owner. I can never imagine there are so many things to learn before even starting the house-hunting. Meanwhile, I turn to admire the small ideas of how to own and live in a small house in Italy. I mean the countryside of Italy. We started our house hunting probably from early spring this year. Both I and Luigi have a flexible working style, so we know a stand-alone h ..read more

Spring/Summer basics
Gustobeats

Hey, another weekend, how are you? Today, I want to chat with you about the wardrobe basics checklist for this spring/summer. I always have a “fever” to Scandinavian minimalism/basic-wearing style. Sorry, not the traditional Italian style in general, as it doesn’t fit me who has no pale skin tone, nor with the matching body shape. Of course, I also love many Italian modern brands with a clean-and-chic minimalism style. We are in the middle of May. Normally April and May is the changeable season – one day with rain, one day with sun. Another thing is the day-and-night temperature difference ..read more

I caught the chance

Hey, how are you? I’m glad that I could find some time to sit down and talk to you here.  I really want to make my blog a causal and relax “chat-box”. My goal is to talk – Yes, I am probably getting too much influence by the Italians. Talking becomes more and more important, and the topic? Well, it is just a few thoughts and mostly “meaningless-while-delight weekend-or-after-dinner-style” things. I caught the chance!  Somehow, the Italian lifestyle makes me a chance-taker.  What do I mean? I make a quick decision or slightly twist my original plan so “impulsive” and randoml ..read more

Paris city walks

It’s been a long while since I paused my writing here. There are many reasons, but I guess my mood and goals were just affected by the work and the current life in Italy. Over the weekend, the news said from around the end of April, restaurants, and bars would reopen in yellow and orange zones in Italy. From 1st of June, maybe, we can go to our gym finally. Italy is setting up its “usual” summer season. I am considering the idea of summer vacations.  Do you believe while you are growing older, you tend to let go of the idea of perfect travel planning?  When I was in my early 20s, I ..read more

How To Cook Artichokes Like An Italian
Gustobeats

Springtime! The Italians always cook and eat as the season moves on. We do, too. I’m so glad to receive many requests after my Instagram story about cooking Italian artichokes (“Carciofi”). So, I decided to share the easiest of all Italian artichoke recipes to try at home. First of all, if you don’t know what is the “Carciofo” – We say Carciofi more often because they are so delicious that you won’t eat only one. Carciofo is the Italian name of artichoke. Of course, it has many types. I have found probably 3-4 different shapes in our neighborhood market.   Nowadays, the artichokes are ..read more

Crunchy Homemade Granola with Oats

Ok, I promise a recipe for my weekend homemade granola with oats. Here I am. I have to admit that Luigi doesn’t love my first try, but he loves my last try. I guess the difference is the crunchiness. We used to and still stock up a couple of boxes of granola and cereals for the breakfast. It is yummy, fast, and yes, we think it is healthy too. Honestly, I know it contains quite a lot of sugar. The processing might not as healthy as we imagine all the time. Meanwhile, I always tend to keep a bag of raw oats in my pantry. Who knows, maybe on a random weekend (or even weekday) morning, I will h ..read more

Best skin care products of all time, I mean 2020

I always want to share something about skincare with you! Well, I guess, finally, this will be the first chapter – just a few carefully selected “best skin care products of all time” according to me.  I like trying new skincare and beauty products. Plus, I don’t have a sensitive skin type but a just-the-everyone-has-it combination-to-oily one. However, the desire of trying new skincare products is no longer strong like when I was in my 20s. I know which brand and what major functional ingredients are good for me. Another “self-claimer”: I don’t own “big brand” products. I am not against ..read more

Simple Italian Frittata With Ricotta Cheese And Crust

Happy Sunday! The rain doesn’t stop, and we continue switching between the “yellow zone” and “orange zone” in Rome. It means – we do have a lot of time at home. Today, I want to share with you my simple recipe inspired by the Italian Frittata with ricotta cheese and spinach. Cooking has become the biggest hobby of ours. And, I believe you have the same feeling. Let the Italians deal with their Italian businesses – this is kind of my motor (and the way to escape from cooking sometimes). However, I like experimenting in my kitchen. This recipe is inspired by the traditional Italian f ..read more

A few books for the coming holiday season
Gustobeats

Hey, this is the holiday season now. Are you staying cozy? I want to talk about a few books today with you because it’s been a while since I updated my Book Page last time. Also, I and Luigi are waiting for the official news about the Christmas and New Year arrangement in Rome (and Italy). We have only rumor so far, but I am preparing myself for a gathering-free holiday with Luigi, my cats, and books. I have been reading quite a lot this year, mostly in the nights. Normally I would light up a couple of candles, scented or not, it really doesn’t matter. The idea is to relax and “detox” from ..read more
