What a week it’s been! I think it’s safe to say this past week has been the busiest week yet at Baking Maniac. Starting with completing an 8 tier cake for a 50th birthday, followed with conducting workshops for GSIS and SIS students from the morning till the afternoon baking up a storm and learning all about baking and what it takes to create one of our masterpieces! Cleaning up the space as quickly as possible once the venue was empty so we could start getting all the Halloween, Diwali and cake orders ready. Top that with a private workshop at The Upper House (what a cool experience that was ..read more

As fun as it is, it also demands you to follow the recipes to the T. If you have found yourself baking a lot during the quarantine period then we have got you a tr ..read more

Hey fellow MANIACS! Hope you’re all safe and practicing physical distancing. Yes, you’ve read it right. Physical distancing is the correct term and not social distancing, even the World Health Organization (WHO) agrees. With the current COVID-19 situation that we are experiencing, we should keep our (physical) distance but still remain connected with our family and friends during these tough times. This is the perfect time to reconnect with your friends and family, wherever they may be. Give them a phone or video call. Stay physically active at home by watching workout/yoga videos online. 4 Thoughtful & Personalized Mother’s Day Themed Cakes
Baking Maniac

As a kid, I was always fond of creating and eating desserts. Since the age of 8, I used to help my mother in the kitchen and was her assistant whenever she conducted baking workshops. My love for desserts since then knew no bounds. It was then at the age of 12, when Baking Maniac was born. What started as a blog, has now grown into a life-long passion to serve and produce phenomenal desserts and it simply wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the constant support from my lovely mother. Mother’s day is around the corner and if you are looking for a way to make it special, then what bet ..read more

Ever heard of a naked cake? No, it’s not the kind of cakes that you see in bachelorette parties. We’re keeping this blog post PG-13! Naked cakes are cakes that are semi-dressed so to speak. These are cakes which have minimal coating or finish that allows you to see the cake’s layers and filling. Most of the time gives off a raw, unfinished and rustic vibe. Although it sounds a bit basic and boring, naked cakes have taken over the spotlight since 2007! What is its secret to fame? Well, for starters, it’s less complicated to make. If presented side by side to an elaborate fondant cake, it will ..read more

I started our first blog in November 2008 and after 11 years I would like to get back to blogging, as it's such a fabulous way to share our journey :)  I thought my first blog post on this new website should be a bit of background on how Baking Maniac started.  Baking Maniac really started from my love of all things sweet. At age 12, I really wanted to learn how to bake and make beautiful desserts, so I emailed many hotels in HK, asking for a free internship alongside pastry chefs to learn baking skills. However I was rejected by all, due to me being underage. Hence ..read more
