Kanata Yanagino’s fantasy light novel The Faraway Paladin is being adapted into a TV anime series, with a planned broadcast of October 2021. The Faraway Paladin tells the story of Will, a boy who gets reincarnated into a world with vague memory of his previous life. There, he is raised by three Undead, and begins to learn the true meaning of his existence. Hideaki Anno, who recently concluded his work on the final Evangelion movie, has been revealed to be the writer and director for a full-length Kamen Rider feature, titled Shin Kamen Rider. The announcement was made on 3 April 2021 at 1930 hours (JST), the exact date and time of the TV premiere of the first Kamen Rider TV series in 1971. Kamen Rider Black, one of the most popular series of the tokusatsu superhero franchise since its TV debut in 1987, is getting a reboot. Titled Kamen Rider Black Sun, it is set to start in Spring 2022. It was revealed on 29 March that the TV anime production of Tokyo Babylon 2021 has been suspended. The production of CLAMP’s work, which was announced in October 2020 with a planned broadcast of April 2021, was stopped after the animation company was found to have committed plagiarism on the character costumes. Following discussions within the production committee, it was decided that it would be impossible to work with the company due to the lack of trust.
