HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - Animal Adventure is getting in the Cindo De Mayo spirit as the Park After Dark series returns for 2024. Animal Adventure is hosting Cinco De Rhino on May 4. The event features music by Cavier and Grits, food trucks, vendors, and adult beverages by Beer Tree Brewing Company. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to rhino conservation organizations. BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - David and Karen Sobotka are selling the Binghamton Rumble Ponies to Diamond Baseball Holdings, the team announced on Friday. Diamond was formed in 2021 and owns over 30 minor league baseball teams. Part of the announcement of the sale, the entire front office staff will be staying on with the team, including Richard Tylicki, who has been serving as the acting General Manager of the team since November. BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) -- A new organization is being created to try to hold bad landlords accountable and make certain tenants are receiving the protections they deserve. With funding from the Community Foundation of South Central New York's Housing Trust Fund, a Fair Housing Advisory Board is being established. The effort stems from reports that housing discrimination is an ongoing problem in Greater Binghamton. BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) - To recognize Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, members of the local Armenian community and Binghamton officials raised the Armenian flag above city hall. Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day honors the over one million Christian Armenians who were killed due to religious persecution from 1915 to 1923. BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) - Today is Arbor Day, and to celebrate, the Binghamton Garden Club planted a tree along the Greenway. Arbor Day is a holiday that celebrates the planting and preservation of trees. The Binghamton Garden Club planted a fast growing, native Tulip Tree near the intersection of Vestal Ave and Ivanhoe Road along the Greenway which connects Binghamton University to downtown. The sapling is protected by a tube so wildlife can't disturb the tree as it grows. Binghamton to host the Great Race in June

BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) - In about 60 days, Binghamton will be a host city, and welcome over one-hundred vintage cars before they finish the rest of their race across the East Coast. On June 26th, the Great Race will make an overnight stop in Binghamton as 135 vintage cars make their way from Kentucky to Maine. SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- $6 wont get you into the Great New York State Fair anymore. The New York State Fair released that the price of admission will be raised by $2 as we head towards the 2024 Fair season. Male country artist added to 2024 NYS Fair lineup Admission is now $8, and parking will be $12. This is yet another price hike. In 2023, the price admission jumped from $3 to $6. The New York State Fair says that these new prices are "on par" with pre-pandemic ticket rates.
