Our Vintage Streamline Trailer Gets a Bedroom Makeover
OH GLORY BE!

We purchased our 1969 Streamline Empress off of Facebook Marketplace for $6,000 in July 2019. She was a little worn, a few dents on the outside, in need of a good polish to restore her brilliant shine. The awning is torn (we have yet to open the awning to see the full damage). Inside, she had some wear and tear. Understandable for a trailer that’s 50 plus years! Vinyl flooring, green enamel stove (which I love), a well-worn accordion room divider and a set of very well worn twin beds, original to the trailer including the boxsprings. When we got her back home, from Calgary I didn’t dar ..read more

A Guide for Seasonal Campsites, What You Should Know
OH GLORY BE!

WE LOVE SEASONAL CAMPSITES Having a seasonal campsite for our travel trailer close to home has been fantastic for my husband and I. It gives us a place to go, without having to worry about booking a campsite and we definitely don’t miss the time spent on trying to reserve a last-minute spot or having to plan in February when we should go camping in July.  It can be a lot! Especially when time is valuable. With my husband’s work, his busy season is in the summer which doesn’t slow down till the snow falls, preventing us from taking a coveted week-long vacation during the summer. However ..read more

I love our Olive the trailer, our mini getaway. I love that I get to enjoy nature at it’s finest, hanging out by a fire pit and roasting marshmallows. It’s the perfect little and affordable getaway. Being able to take the time to just take off to go camping isn’t always do-able. And to be honest, there are factors I don’t enjoy about trailer life. Here are several great reasons why a seasonal site might be the answer for you, if you’ve considered trailer ownership but don’t like all the inconveniences of trailer ownership. SEASONAL CAMPING PERKS AND ADVANTAGES TOWING: If you downright don’t ..read more

DIY PORTABLE DECK
OH GLORY BE!
by Lorraine Marie

Our lovely Olive the Empress, needed a deck for morning coffee, a place to bbq without worrying about tracking in campsite dirt into the trailer and a place to just sit and enjoy a tall glass of ice tea , enjoying the afternoon sun. Turning to my favourite resources, Pinterest, I sought out DIY Projects to create our own floating, low profile deck. The deck would have to be portable with a budget of $250. I nixed the idea of concrete blocks, as it was too heavy and cumbersome to be portable, which was key for our trailer up at our seasonal campsite. I had seen several people create decks wit ..read more

OH GLORY BE!

After owning an old Boler for ten or so years, and having sold her once the kids had grown, my husband and I were missing trailer life. Inspired by pinterest ideas of refurbishing another trailer, we began our search for a “new to us” trailer. With so many options, we scrolled through second hand sites, making lists of what we’d like. We kept an eye on prices, and specs, years and potential in renovation, however, to avoid becoming overwhelmed by the amount of choices and getting bogged down in the endless choices, we narrowed down our search and chose a particular style. Focusing in what w ..read more
