I’ve been quite vocal about my opinions on gotek solutions. It’s been great that so many have been opened up freely to the public however some of them are ugly bulky, making it difficult to fit dust covers and generally not keeping in line with the Amiga’s beautiful aesthetic. We recently made available our first […]

Considering the beautiful yet “slippery” finish of the Analogue pocket it’s strange to see the lacklustre range of cases (exactly 1) available officially on the Analogue website. The clear case is a great way of showing off your lovely FPGA “gameboy” but it’s not exactly convenient for those who travel with the device and need room for an accessory (or five).
This brings me to the UGREEN Travel case / Organiser bag or whatever it wants to call itself. TLDR: It’s epic. Get one. Click here.

The Gotek is hands down the BEST upgrade for any Amiga. It’s a simple floppy drive emulator (that when coupled with the Flash Floppy firmware) can store and execute the entire Amiga library on a single 64GB USB flash drive. No more unreliable floppy disks and disk swapping as the mighty Gotek has a feature that allows multiple Amiga Disk Format (ADF) images to be assigned to the slots. For a basic Amiga 500, this is a must, in fact for any Amiga!
FlashFloppy is a godsend. For its creation, we thank the Amazing Keir Fraser.
Note that this guide is for a Gotek in its original 3.5″ housing. It wi ..read more

Whilst setting up Amiga Game Selector AGS UAE is a very straightforward process, we’ve had a number of requests for guidance on how to get it running on a Windows PC. So, for all those people who need a little more helping hand, this guide is for you. Enjoy ?
Download AGS
Despite various full download mirrors of AGS for UAE floating about, they are horrendously slow. You are much better using the torrent file to download using the wonder of peer-to-peer sharing.
If you don’t already have a torrent client like qBittorent installed you’ll need to install that first. You can grab qbi https://www ..read more

After noting Dr Chris’s love of British fine cuisine in a previous video, we thought it was only fitting that we provided Chris with a yummy care package from the British Isles to help keep him fueled up with his relentless Amiga repairs. Video here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4_6fFSCXCU&t=1070s
Not only did we provide him with some glorious diabetes snacks, but we also gifted him with some goodies available from our store. Winging its way across the pond were various sticky things including a pack of our customer Amiga floppy disk labels and some rather “controversial” Commodore W ..read more

It’s official. I’ve got the Meshtastic bug. It’s not like I need any more hobbies but the mixture of amateur radio and tech is continuing its grasp on my attention. It’s great fun and that drive to push for contacts has had me out walking more than ever before.
Here’s a little recap on what has been going on at Retro32 Base (R32B)
Stealth Solar off-grid budget node
Using a low-power Rak Wisblock combined with a “working” Paradar antenna and a garden LED light, I have constructed my first off-grid node. Using a cheap solar LED light from Amazon (https://amzn.to/4cuotXJ), I combined the crappy p ..read more

I’m no stranger to “introductory” radio. My loft has been the home to an ADS-B antenna for the past year (ranking 223rd in the UK on Flight radar). Apart from my brief experience with CB radio in my teens, two-way radio communication has been off the radar for a looooong time.
Until Meshtastic. My initial introduction to meshtastic was from Andy Kirby’s YouTube videos. The combination and easily accessible off-grid secure communication, antennas, and a thriving community had me hook, line, and sinker.
What is Meshtastic
Meshtastic is a project that enables you to use inexpensive LoRa radios as ..read more
