On August 13, 2021, at about 9:45 PM, Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) Officers responded to a call for service at Eddie’s Liquor, 2045 20th Street, to investigate a shooting. SMPD Officers discovered a male suspect, later identified as 36–year-old Jesus Manuel Macias, was in a verbal argument with the victim in the parking lot. As the argument escalated, a female with Macias, 26-year-old Lucero Campos, retrieved a handgun from their car and handed it to Macias. On August 7, 2021, at about 2:30 AM, Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) Officers responded to a call for service at the intersection of 2nd Street and Wilshire Avenue. The callers reported several people fighting in the middle of the street. When officers arrived on scene, they located a victim in the 100 block of Wilshire Blvd. in front of 800 Degrees Woodfired Kitchen, lying on his back with a significant injury to his head. On August 12, 2021 at about 5:35 AM, Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) Officers were dispatched to investigate an active burglary involving a vehicle that was parked in the secured parking lot at 1833 Lincoln Blvd, Rainbow Carpet Cleaners. When officers arrived on scene, they could hear a grinding noise coming from under a white ford pickup truck. This morning, August 7, 2021 at approximately 2:30am, Santa Monica Police Department officers assigned to the Major Accident Response Team (MART) responded to a traffic collision involving a solo vehicle and a pedestrian near Main and Ashland.       The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
