Incumbent Council Member Kristin Stevens and Melissa Fleming were elected to Round Rock City Council as a result of the May 4 general election, according to unofficial results from the Williamson and Travis County Elections offices. Two amendments to the City’s Home Rule Charter on the ballot were also approved by voters. Fleming defeated Alan Sims for Place 3 with approximately 65.7% of the total votes, while Stevens ran unopposed for re-election to Place 5. City Council considers changes to non-resident memberships at Round Rock Public Library

Round Rock and Dell Technologies extend original agreement through 2099

Round Rock City Council has proclaimed May as National Preservation Month, when local preservation and civic organizations spotlight their preservation programs and heritage tourism. The City of Round Rock was also presented with a check for $53,000 from non-profit Round Rock Preservation that was raised for the restoration of the City-owned Round Rock Stagecoach Inn. The City is currently performing restoration work necessary to reintegrate the inn as part of the Heritage Trail West project. City of Round Rock residents have two City Council positions and two proposed Charter amendments on the May 4 ballot. Early voting began Monday, April 22 and runs through Tuesday, April 30. Polls are open 8 a.m. through 6 p.m. on April 22-27, closed on Sunday, April 28, and open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 29-30. Round Rock City Council approved a street maintenance contract at its April 11 meeting that will improve the state of several neighborhood roads throughout the City The $8.9 million contract with Bennett Paving, Inc. will provide for repairs to several roads within the Dove Creek, Twin Ridge, and Greenslopes at Lake Creek neighborhoods.
