The candlelight tours will feature early American death customs and mourning traditions. On October 20 and 21 Sabine Hill State Historic Site in Elizabethton, TN will present “Death Comes to Sabine Hill”, a unique event designed to resurrect many of the forgotten traditions associated with death and mourning in early America. Fairmont Elementary has been named a National Blue Ribbon Reward School. Fairmont Elementary has been named a National Blue Ribbon Reward School, the Department of Education announced on Tuesday. Fairmont Elementary is one of 353 schools in the country and one of six in Tennessee to make up the 40th cohort. A Spot on the Hill will feature new stories in the Old Jonesborough Cemetery this October. A Spot on the Hill, the original, research-based play returns this October to the Old Jonesborough Cemetery. Now celebrating its ninth season, this edition features new characters. New stories include Miss Ethel Brown who was a teacher at Booker T. The 2024 Miss Tennessee Scholarship Competition is coming to ETSU’s Martin Center for the Arts June 20-22, 2024. Preliminary competitions will be the evenings of the 20th and 21st.
