PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona State Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in a case that could change how abortions are handled in the state on Tuesday.
Planned Parenthood versus Mayes could potentially bring back the near-total abortion ban that dates back to 1864.
The state supreme court decided to take up the case this summer.
Last December, the Arizona Court of Appeals upheld a 2022 law banning abortions after 15 weeks.
Oral arguments are happening Tuesday morning.
No word when a decision will come down.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Marine Corps Community Services hosted its Winterfest drive-thru event where volunteers handed out cookies, toys, and Christmas trees to Marines stationed at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma.
The event happened on December 1 and gave back to active-duty Marines and their families.

(CBS) - Electric vehicle (EV) sales are improving but many potential buyers are still worried about the cars ability to travel long distances.
EV’s have an EPA listing that calculates how far a car can go on one charge driving in the city and on the highway.
But Consumer Reports wanted to see how far electric vehicles can travel on just the highway, driving an average of 70 miles per hour and in good weather conditions.

WINTERHAVEN, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will be announcing $81 million of investments that will create economic opportunity in underserved rural and Native American communities.

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A brush fire in California has grown to nearly 3,000 acres and prompted evacuations in Ventura County on Saturday.
Officials say the fire began at approximately 9:30am. A team of 300 firefighters from across Southern California worked to battle the blaze.
In their efforts, crews utilized 50 trucks, seven air tankers and five helicopters, and according to the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD), additional resources are being ordered.
Fortunately, no major structures have been damaged or destroyed at this time.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Beachgoers got quite the surprise Sunday morning when a whale was found washed up on the sand in San Diego.
It was 52-foot long fin whale, which is considered an endangered species, that washed up sometime before 9:30am.
"I saw some guy running around with his surfboard and I was like how were the waves and he was like pretty chill but there's a 40 footer on the beach, beached up and I was like what do you mean 40 footer and he was like its a whale, beached and I was like no way," said Aidan McHugh, a beachgoer.
