MONTEREY COUNTY — Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC) has announced the addition of Dr. Rolando Cabrera, Mary Claypool and Robert Cullen to its Board of Directors.
“We are excited to add Rolando, Mary and Robert to the board. Their talent and perspective will expand the impact of the CFMC to help strengthen our communities,” said Kirk Gafill, CFMC Board Chair.

I love living in the Salinas Valley. I have always loved this part of the state. Oh sure there is the wind, but that you have to have something to dust while cleaning house. I will say that you really never, as our early neighbors said, “Get used to it!” Well, at least I haven’t in the many years I have called the valley my home.

The first time I caught sight of her she was in bad shape. I’m no expert on this particular species, but I know suffering when I see it. I offered her unkind owner good money for her to come and live with me. Line in the sand — no more suffering for her. She screamed when she was bought to Solace, and I could only imagine her fear. Come to find out she was blind and that must have made her terror even more marked.

SALINAS VALLEY — The San Luis Obispo Tiger track and field team made a statement on Saturday as they swept all four divisions at the 79th King City Invitational track meet at King City High School’s War Memorial Stadium.
Arroyo Grande placed second in the varsity boys division and frosh-soph girls division, while host King City placed second in the frosh-soph boys division and Salinas was second in the varsity girls division.

MONTEREY COUNTY — The County of Monterey has announced a significant upgrade to its online presence with the transition to a new domain name, in compliance with Assembly Bill 1637 (Local Government: Internet Websites and Email Addresses), signed into law by the governor on Oct. 8, 2023.
This transition marks a pivotal step toward bolstering cybersecurity and enhancing accessibility for constituents.
