David Winslow Polhemus, 91, died Friday, April 10, 2024, in Rio Rancho, NM surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Woodsville, NH, to Oscar and Helen Polhemus on Dec. 12, 1932. He is a graduate of Indiana University, Boston University School of Theology, Trinity University and Andover Newton School of Theology. He was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church, and served New Hampshire churches including North Charlestown, West Unity, Lebanon and Grantham.  He was a chaplain in the US Army for 21 years and a licensed pastoral counceller for 11years.  He is survive ..read more

(Submitted) CAZENOVIA — On March 29-31, 20 members of Limestone Creek Hunt participated in the Sedgefield Hunt Carolinas Foxhound Performance Trials in Hoffman, North Carolina. Huntsman Doug Russell entered five of the club’s best hounds to compete with 12 other hunts from along the eastern seaboard. This is a Masters of Foxhounds Association of North America (MFHA)-recognized competition, and hounds that place within the top ten are eligible for the championship in 2025. School board approves proposed budget

CAZENOVIA — On April 15, the Cazenovia Central School District Board of Education (CCSD BOE) adopted a proposed expenditure budget of $38,826,826 for the 2024-25 school year. The district was faced with a significant budget gap at the beginning of the 2024-25 budget development process. To close the gap, CCSD has proposed a 5.9 percent tax levy increase, fund balance use of $1,654,009, and strategic spending cuts totaling $399,295. MADISON COUNTY — Madison County is continuing its extensive review of long-term options for the preservation of its waste management system. Following an April 10 sweep of Skaneateles and Auburn, the Lakers piled up 146 points to top Clinton (96 points) and 17 other rivals at last Saturday’s Tully Coed Invitational and then overwhelmed Phoenix 125-16 last Wednesday afternoon.
