CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two days after Clarksville was swept by storms carrying several rounds of hail and heavy rain on Wednesday, the Red River crested overnight and is on the way back down. At 10 p.m. Thursday, the river crested at 43.65 feet, which is 13.65 feet over the 30-foot flood stage, according to the National Weather Service. CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 24 near the Tennessee Welcome Center on Wednesday night. At about 9:42 p.m., the pedestrian was on the interstate near mile marker 0.2 when they were hit, according to Clarksville Police spokesman Scott Beaubien. CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two men convicted of the 2020 murder of a 32-year-old man were both given life sentences in court Wednesday. On the evening of Jan. 15, 2020, police responded to a shootout in progress on Bennett Drive and arrived to find DeSergio Taylor, 32, with multiple fatal gunshot wounds.
