SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA) — People in Santa Clarita may have felt the earth move on Valentine’s Day, but it wasn’t love – it was an earthquake. SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA) — Los Angeles County Fire Department crews rescued a pedestrian who was stuck under a vehicle in Santa Clarita on Sunday evening. The incident was reported at around 10 p.m., after a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Marci Way. Crews were able to free the person from underneath the vehicle, before transporting them to a nearby hospital. According to the LACFD report, the vehicle also struck a nearby building in the crash. SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA) — Police need help tracking down a pickup truck they believe to be involved in a series of convenience store robberies in the Santa Clarita Valley. SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA) — A man was shot while riding his bicycle in Santa Clarita Monday evening. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, witnesses reported the shooting at about 6:55 p.m. at the corner of Whites Canyon Road and Delight Street. It is unknown if the incident was gang-related, however, LASD said that the man was shot from a passing vehicle. SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA) — A strip mall fire in Santa Clarita on Saturday afternoon prompted a large response from Los Angeles County Fire Department crews. They engaged with the blaze on West Lyons Avenue at around 4:45 p.m. 10 fire engines and four trucks were on the scene of the fire, which was declared a second alarm fire. Crews knocked down the fire just prior to 5:30 p.m. There are no reported injuries. SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA) – Fire departments across the southland are on high alert even as the rains dwindle, but leave washed out roads and debris flow in the wake of the storm. By Tuesday afternoon, the heavy rain and strong winds had subsided in Santa Clarita, but many residents remained concerned about mud and debris flows in burn scar areas. “It gets concerning, definitely, just because of the past experiences. LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Authorities are bracing for possible mudflows in areas were recently scorched by wildfire, including the Bobcat Fire, the Ranch Fire, and the Lake Fire. Los Angeles County Public Works has issued debris and mudflow forecasts ahead of the storm that is expected to reach Southern California by Monday night.
