PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pueblo County marijuana cultivators are expressing their concerns over perceived inaction by the Pueblo County Commissioners on not allowing them to sign new licenses to grow and produce cannabis.
A vote by the three commissioners has been delayed twice in the last week, a vote that would allow the commissioners to review and sign off on new licenses for cannabis cultivators who previously held a license. COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Given the recent increase in pothole complaints, it's nice to bring drivers a more positive development.
According to AAA Colorado, Colorado Springs -- as of late Thursday morning -- ranked second in the U.S. for having the lowest average gas prices; last week, the city was number one.
But you may want to fill up now, because that trend is quickly changing.
AAA spokesman Skyler McKinley said that the average price for a gallon of unleaded gas in Colorado, is $3.16 -- well below the national average of $3.67.
Only Mississippi is cheaper on average.

PUEBLO, Colo (KRDO) - America's Best Restaurants (ABR) will be visiting Musso's in Pueblo in early May.
ABR Roadshow focuses on bringing attention to local and independently owned restaurants. ABR will be filming at Musso's on Thursday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. Popular dishes will be highlighted along with an on-camera interview with the owner Lisa Musso.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) - There is a large police presence near an RV park on the south side of Pueblo.
The scene is on Lake Ave. near Fort's RV Park.
Pueblo Police Department (PPD) says that officers were responding to reports of animal cruelty. The suspect who was contacted had a warrant for his arrest and when officers tried to take him into custody the suspect produced a handgun. Officers then fired at the suspect who was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
PPD says that two officers are currently on administrative leave and the scene is being processed.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Minutes before a live report on the city's east side Tuesday, Cynthia Hopkins drove up to KRDO 13's The Road Warrior crew, wearing her bathrobe as she explained how agitated she was about pothole damage to her car.
"I hit a pothole and damaged my front end," she shouted through the early morning wind on Saratoga Road. "It's going to cost me $1,300 to repair it."
We haven't heard of potholes being the problem in the Steel City, that they are in Colorado Springs.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The peak of the road construction in southern Colorado has arrived with warmer spring temperatures and a major repaving project on I-25 through the Steel City.
Officially beginning Monday, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will repave ten miles of the freeway between the Eagleridge Boulevard exit on the north end, south to the Stem Beach Road exit.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) - Fire crews continue to battle a brush fire that ignited Friday along Fountain Creek on the northeast side of Pueblo.
The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) ordered evacuations Friday afternoon for homes located a half-mile north of 1945 Overton Road, involving approximately 25 homes; however, some of those evacuations were lifted late Saturday morning.
The PCSO also said that the fire poses no threat to the nearby Colorado State University-Pueblo campus and no evacuations were needed there.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Columns of dark, thick smoke and flames several feet high caught the attention of many commuters heading home just east of downtown Thursday.
Two fires ignited in thick grasses and brush at around 5 p.m., on the west bank of Fountain Creek between the 4th Street and 8th Street bridges and west of Erie Avenue.
The scene was quite a spectacle for dozens of people along the nearby Fountain Creek Trail and the Pueblo Skatepark who came out to watch and record photos and video.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) - Police are investigating whether the traffic backup from an early Monday morning fatal accident on southbound I-25, may have caused a second deadly crash in the same area.
Both crashes happened between the Abriendo and Minnequa avenue exits on the city's south side.
The first crash was reported to police at around 3:30 a.m.; officers responded to find a man dead in the middle of the freeway and the moped he apparently had been riding.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Officials have announced the completion of a project that will benefit drivers and pedestrians.
Four new traffic signals go online Monday, March 4, at the Prairie Avenue and O'Neal Avenue intersection.
It may not sound like much, but it's important for the people in the Beulah Heights and Lake Minnequa neighborhoods; the new traffic signals replaced a mid-block pedestrian crossing signal, which was just south of O’Neal Ave.
