Protestors at the University of California, Riverside reached an agreement with school officials to end the pro-Palestinian campus occupation Friday night. The encampment began on April 29 as protestors occupied the area beside Bell Tower. The movement was led by the university’s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine. Fifteen people were arrested and $16 million worth of illegal drugs were seized during a massive cartel bust in Southern California. The operation, nicknamed “Hotline Bling,” was a multi-agency investigation targeting a Sinaloa drug trafficking network operating in the Inland Empire. Over 100 dogs rescued from Riverside hoarder house up for adoption

Over 100 dogs that were rescued from a hoarder in Riverside will now be placed for adoption. On Thursday, officials responded to a fire that ignited in a two-bedroom townhome. Inside the home, 113 small dogs that were being hoarded were discovered by Riverside Animal Shelter Rescue Department workers. All dogs were removed from the home and impounded at an animal shelter. Riverside Police Department officers shot and killed a man they say was confronting them with a knife on Thursday. The man, whose identity has not been released, was reported for alleged domestic violence at about 5:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of Chestnut Street, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise. A Fontana man has been arrested six months after he allegedly shot another man's legs in Colton. Roberto Ruiz, 28, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. Wednesday in Fontana, the Colton Police Department said in a news release. Six months prior, on Oct. 1, 2023, Ruiz shot a 24-year-old Riverside man at 2250 W. Mill St., resulting in "severe injuries to his lower body," the release said. At least one person died after a shooting in a gated Riverside community Sunday in broad daylight, police confirmed. A man was arrested after he allegedly kidnapped a woman in Riverside County and made her drive him in her vehicle, police said. Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department received reports about an apparent kidnapping in the unincorporated community of Woodcrest around 1:16 a.m. Friday. A San Bernardino County man who worked as a school bus driver was arrested and charged with possessing thousands of child sexual abuse materials. The Riverside Police Department has identified a 19-year-old Eastvale man as the alleged assailant in a teen's fatal stabbing in Riverside Sunday morning.
