(WNCN) -- North Carolina officials say a man convicted of assault with serious bodily injury escaped prison during "a family visitation" Sunday afternoon until he was caught about five hours later and less than a mile away. ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) -- A suspect is wanted after an elderly woman was robbed at a Rocky Mount bank on Friday afternoon, according to police. On Friday shortly before 3:50 p.m., Rocky Mount police responded to a reported robbery at the ATM of a PNC Bank at 1280 Benvenue Road. KENNER, La. (WGNO) —  Three Louisiana police officers were wounded by gunfire Sunday in a standoff with a man suspected of shooting three other people in the past week, authorities said.
