51-year-old woman killed in crash on Pocahontas Parkway, Virginia State Police investigating

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Virginia State Police is currently investigating a deadly crash involving one car. According to police, at 11:18 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, officers responded to a single-car crash eastbound on Pocahontas Parkway at Wilson Road. Authorities said 51-year-old Lisa A. Coates, of Chesterfield, was driving at a high speed when her car ran off the road on the right side and hit a tree. The collision caused her vehicle to overturn multiple times. PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Petersburg residents are weighing in on the casino that could be on their ballots this November after the city's decision to choose the Cordish Companies to operate it. RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A Richmond man was sentenced to two years and three months in prison for firearm possession as a convicted felon in federal court Thursday. According to court documents, at around 10 p.m. on Aug. 3, 2023, Richmond Police Department officers saw an Instagram story posted by 25-year-old Walter Lavelle Allen at around 8 p.m. that evening in which he displayed a firearm.
