Where have you gone baseball? Will passionate fans and baseball aficionados be welcomed back to your manicured ballparks for the truncated 2020 season? In the last few months there was no baseball, (including every professional sport for that matter) and finally ‘Summer Camp’ has arrived - Spring Training 2.0. Yet, I've seen countless posts on social media platforms write about their "all-time" lineups for their respective teams. Personally, as a rabid fan of America’s Pastime, the only franchise that matters is the “Black & Gold” - the Pittsburgh Pirates - affectionately known as the “Bu ..read more

A Rose That Grows, On You

I have a few ballplayers that I hold near and dear to my heart. Partly because it brings back memories of a time my father and grandfathers would share stories and the great time I enjoyed while listening. With that being said, ,,Mr. Pete Rose is one of those people, Charlie Hustle is more how I remember it. I visited Las Vegas in March of 2019 for business and happened to see a flyer that was promoting in store Pete Rose signings and I just knew it was meant to be! The first words I spoke to Mr. Rose before even shaking his hand was, "1963 ROY, 1973 NL MVP, 17 time All-Star, 2 time Gold Glov ..read more

MINOR LEAGUE LIFE DURING A PANDEMIC

As the horrific days of this dreaded COVID-19 lockdown continues to drag on throughout our country and the clouds of uncertainty “loom with gloom” there’s one thing each of us need to seriously consider – we MUST find a way to push forward.   In the world of Minor League Baseball (MiLB), no one is more affected than the future ballplayers who will one day trot across the manicured grass of a Major League Baseball ballpark. It’s their hope. It’s their dream. Think about it: It will affect those ballplayers who aren’t the freshly signed and drafted "rooks" in the first and second tiers in t ..read more

"Always Stay Authentic" - The Real Jersey King

There are so many reasons as to why I am missing baseball nowadays. From the sounds of the game, to the smells of the food, to the chatters of the crowd and even to the traffic leaving the ballpark after the final out is called. Now I know it may sound crazy to you; but, one of the things I miss the most are the jerseys and the exclusive patches. Since I was a little kid I have always loved seeing what uniform the away team was wearing. Or was the home team going to wear the classic white home jerseys or maybe the alternative jerseys? Or maybe even the throwback jersey?  I can honestly s ..read more

If you are the one of the three (3) out of four (4) Americans that have been benched due to the Coronavirus simply staying active in and of itself can be a major task.  Making sure that we are getting the proper amount of sleep, food, and exercise, as well as keeping our regular routines and daily habits, can be downright stressful and overwhelming. I know these times are unpredictable but right now there are three (3) things that you should concentrate on: 1) mental discipline; 2) physical discipline; and 3) emotional discipline. I contacted my good friend Corey James from Phizeeq Person ..read more

In 2017 I experienced one of my most memorable years as it relates to baseball and baseball activities. Out of all the places that I have visited I would have to say that the Negro League Baseball Museum has remained with me. In my previous post, "My MLB Ballpark Passport story" I was explaining how I bought the "Big Book" and all the accessories that comes with it. One of the accessories is 2 separate "stamping" pages for the Cooperstown Hall of Fame and the Negro League Baseball Museum. I made sure to add in the NLBM and it's "stamping page" on my trip list for the 2017 season. I was to go f ..read more

My MLB Ballpark Passport Story

To me the best thing about the game of baseball and baseball games are the memories of those particular games you attended and the people you went with. The sounds, the smells, the sunsets and the faces are what someone like me has memorized with every step around every beautiful concourse that I have walked. One day I was on the internet and came across the MLB Ballpark Passport which is definitely one of the best baseball items that I have discovered. The idea and thought of the Ballpark Passport is simple. You get your passport stamped at every ballpark you visit and game you attend. You c ..read more

Trevor Bauer is an outstanding starting pitcher. In 2017 he went 17-9 with a 4.19 era starting in 31 games for the Cleveland Indians. That set the stage for Trevor to ask for a reported $6.9 million dollar salary. When he was told that he may be asking for too much, he lowered this amount to exactly $6,420,969.69 for the 2018 season. He was later asked  to propose a deal for $6,525,000. Which he won through arbitration. Wanting to be paid exactly what he asked for, Trevor started his 69 Days Of Giving campaign. This charitable campaign saw Trevor Bauer donating $420.69 to a different char ..read more

The best part about the game we all love, baseball, is that more people and places then ever before are active and alive participating in the game. From the Caribbean to the Netherlands, China to Australia, Japan to Europe, everywhere you go, everyone has a baseball mitt on ready to play! It was incredible to get off the plane at Heathrow airport and see MLB advertisements everywhere, kids wearing Yankees and Red Sox hats, Dads and Sons wearing Judge and Betts jerseys! Unfortunately, this year MLB's spring training has been cut short and opening day has been pushed back until at least mid-May ..read more

GOD Bless Baseball for all!

In my opinion, nothing beats a beer or soda, peanuts, hotdog, baseball talk and a ballgame during a warm summers day or night! Whether it's my wife and I, my family, my friends or just me, there's nothing like it. Sometimes the best part of the ballgames are watching the kids and young fans interact with the ballplayers during the warm ups. There is nothing like seeing a young kids face light after getting tossed a ball or getting that sought after autograph from his or her favorite player. I love walking by and noticing someone keeping score or listening along to the game on the radio or on ..read more
