FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) Colorado State coach Niko Medved agreed to an extension with the Rams that will keep him with the program through the 2028-29 season and possibly longer. The deal was announced by the school Monday and includes two options for the 2029-30 and '30-31 seasons. Medved led the Rams to 25 wins this season and a spot in the NCAA tournament. He was recently named the recipient of the Skip Prosser man of the year award, which goes to the Division I coach who wins with integrity on and off the court. LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. A former youth pastor in Fort Collins has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting children over three decades. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office said Hipolito Gomez-Perdomo, 65, of Fort Collins, was arrested in March on charges of five counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and one count of sexual assault on a child. DENVER (AP) Denver Pioneers forward McKade Webster will try to follow in his younger sisters lead after Makenna helped Ohio State win an NCAA hockey championship last month. More than 500 guinea pigs rescued from Colorado-based breeder

A Fort Collins animal rescue is in need of foster families after more than 500 guinea pigs were rescued from a Colorado-based breeder. According to Cavies and Canines Animal Rescue, the breeder could not care for the guinea pigs and contemplated feeding them to birds of prey. The animals were kept in Tupperware storage totes and lacked food and water. Many of the guinea pigs have health issues, including a "widespread" infestation of ringworm and mites, according to Cavies and Canines. BOULDER, Colo. (AP) Deion Sanders has brought in Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp as a graduate assistant to work with the Colorado Buffaloes. The grad assistant position paves the way for the 51-year-old Sapp to work more closely on the field with the team. Afternoon highs reached the 50s and 60s for the Denver metro on Sunday...however, rain arrives by the evening hours and a quick-moving system drops a rain-snow mix on Monday.
