SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, Colo. Authorities are working to extinguish a small wildfire near the Town of Ophir in San Miguel County. The San Miguel County Sheriff's Office reported that its deputies, along with firefighters with Telluride Fire Protection District, are at the scene. As of 3 p.m., the fire was 50 feet by 100 feet and was burning on U.S. Forest Service land on Ophir Pass, about a third of a mile from Ophir. DENVER The two victims shot and killed in an apparent road rage incident Tuesday on Interstate 25 in Denver have been identified by their family. A jury found a Colorado plastic surgeon guilty after he did not call 911 for five hours after an 18-year-old patient slipped into cardiac arrest after receiving anesthesia. Dr. Geoffrey Kim was found guilty on Wednesday afternoon of attempted reckless manslaughter and obstruction of telephone service, according to the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office. Lawyers representing victims of the Marshall Fire on Thursday filed a mass action lawsuit against Xcel Energy, claiming the energy provider is to blame for the most destructive fire in Colorado history. The Marshall Fire began as two separate fires, the first of which was likely sparked by a resident's buried fire from about a week prior and the second which likely began as a result of a disconnected Xcel Energy power line, the Boulder County sheriff announced Thursday morning. This weekend's heavy, wet snow storm left a lot of downed trees and fallen branches across Colorado springs.
