WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One day after the federal government announced the possibility of reclassifying marijuana as a Schedule 3 controlled substance, people in the Cape Fear are reacting with some positive support for the move. Currently, marijuana is a Schedule 1 controlled substance, the same category as substances like heroin, LSD, and methamphetamines. WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Some Duke Energy customers voiced their thoughts about a plan to reduce North Carolina’s carbon emissions. Monday’s hearing was the third of four in-person public hearings held about the state’s Carbon Plan. Ashley defeated the New Hanover Wildcats in the championship game 39-6 to win the first ever New Hanover County Schools Girls Flag Football League Championship. Prayer vigil held for Isabella Strahan as she prepares for third round of chemo

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — More than 100 people gathered for a prayer vigil for a young girl battling brain cancer. 19-year-old Isabella Strahan was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer usually seen in kids between the ages of 2 and 9.
