The Triple A Motor Club says the average price of gas in Indiana Sunday stood at $3.57 a gallon, two cents lower than Saturday and nine cents lower than Sunday’s national average. Indiana’s average was also 11 cents lower than a week ago, 11 cents higher than a month ago, and two cents higher than a year ago. Meanwhile, Triple A says the average price for diesel fuel in Indiana Sunday was $4.04 a gallon, a penny lower than Saturday. The Indiana State Police is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration for their 26th “Prescription Drug Take Back” Day from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM Saturday. The “Take Back” initiative seeks to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through proper disposal of unwanted prescription drugs. Collection sites will be set up at most Indiana State Police Posts. Other drop off points include the Vincennes Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Department, and Lawrence County, Illinois Sheriff’s Department. Police have arrested a 17-year-old in the shooting death of a high school student on the campus of an Arlington, Texas, high school. Arlington Police Chief Al Jones said 18-year-old Etavion Barnes was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds on Wednesday afternoon outside portable buildings on the campus of Bowie High School. According to police, detectives still are working to determine a motive but said it appeared the two knew each other.
