CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - Frontier Communications Parent, Inc. filed a report stating a third party allegedly gained access to information. According to a report the company filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Monday, Frontier Communications detected the third party Sunday, April 14. CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - The West Virginia Army National Guard hosted a special ceremony today for its newest General Officer. Colonel Arthur J. Garffer was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General at the Joint Forces Headquarters in Charleston on Thursday. Maj. Gen. Bill Crane presided over the ceremony. Brig. Gen. BOONE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) -- A man has been sentenced for bringing almost six pounds of meth into the country. Jack Turley will spend a maximum of 10 years behind bars on charges of conspiracy and causing a controlled substance to be transported into the state. Investigators say he worked with a co-defendant to bring the drug into the region back in 2022. This is the same man who was investigated when he was a teacher at the Boone County Career and Technical Center. Trace amounts of meth were found in the building. MINGO COUNTY, WV (WOWK) - Mingo County Schools are back to regular operations after a precautionary lockdown earlier Thursday after a nearby incident. According to the Mingo County Board of Education, the precautionary lockdown went into effect after a "report of an incident" in the Bend Creek area.
