INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A mother who was on trial for the killing of her 2-month-old daughter in 2022 was found not guilty on Wednesday, according to online court records. Judge Mark D. Stoner found Dacia Lacey, 33, not guilty on a count of neglect of a dependent resulting in death. Online court records did not explain the judge’s ruling. News 8 was not in court for the ruling. INDIANAPOLIS (WIBC) — Police in Indianapolis arrested several people and collected a large amount guns and drugs this week. In a joint operation between Indianapolis Metro Police, Violent Crimes Task Force and SWAT, officers executed a search warrant in the 100 block of West 32nd Street. That operation led to the arrests of four men: John Whitfield, Deandre Miller, Arian Suggs, and Charles Dunlap. Each man faces several charges involving drug possession and dealing. INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man responsible for a Thursday night shooting was in custody Friday morning, Indianapolis police said. IU Health Methodist Hospital called Indianapolis police around 11:30 p.m. after a man with gunshot wounds arrived at the emergency room. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers opened an investigation and quickly identified 53-year-old Gerald Stokes as a possible suspect. Lafayette elementary school to be first in Indiana to move to 4-day week

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WIBC) — A school in Lafayette is the first in the state to move to a four-day school week. Vinton Elementary School is implementing the new calendar. During a school board meeting on Wednesday leaders with the Lafayette School Corp. approved the change. The school district got a waiver from the state to proceed with the four-day week, but students still have to hit the 180-day minimum for the school year. INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Bill Tobin, who served three seasons as Colts General Manager and was at the center of an all-time NFL draft dispute, has died. Tobin’s death was announced Friday. He was 83. Colts owner Jim Irsay confirmed the death in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, calling Tobin a “tough, old-time football man.” Tobin served as Colts GM from January 1994 through 1996, when he was replaced by Bill Polian.
