SULPHUR, OK (WOWK) -- Amid the devastation after an EF-3 tornado with winds up to 165 mph leveled much of the downtown area, relief workers and power crews worked furiously in hot weather to restore any part of normalcy that they could Tuesday. Kentucky-based storm chaser Chris Hall says the town of Sulphur looks devastated but also says electric crews have made progress restoring power poles, and he and others in his relief cooking crew have handed out some 700 meals so far since arriving. ROBINSON CREEK, KY (WOWK) - One person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle and a Mack Truck. According to the Kentucky State Police, the crash happened around 1:14 p.m. Sunday, April 29, along KY Route 122 in the Robinson Creek area of Pike County. ELLIOTT COUNTY, KY (WOWK) - Elliott County first responders will soon be getting a new emergency services center. A memorandum of agreement has been signed and work is set to begin on bringing emergency services together in Elliott County, Kentucky. The $4.6 million investment is being made to combine EMS services into one operational center. FRANKFORT, KY (WOWK) - Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear says the Bluegrass State's medical cannabis program is way ahead of schedule. Beshear signed House Bill 829 Wednesday, which moves the timeline for cannabis businesses to be licensed from January 2025 to July of this year.
