UPDATE (6:10 p.m. on Monday, May 6): As of 5 p.m. more than 30 structures were checked with no readings of natural gas found in them. Columbia Gas assisted the Ashland Fire Department in the investigation. According to the AFD, some locations, such as the Ashland Town Center, Walmart and other business were asked to evacuate as a precaution when the calls for the smell came in. All of the buildings have been cleared, and occupants are able to go back into the buildings. GREENUP COUNTY, KY (WOWK) — Flooding has overtaken some areas of Kentucky as severe weather moves through the area Monday evening. According to Greenup County Emergency Management Agency Director Buford Hurley, there is flooding in the streets of Flatwoods, Raceland and other areas of the county.
