'We can't solve homelessness': Topeka leaders continue homeless cleanup efforts

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Topeka leaders say crews are continuing their efforts to combat the homeless issue in the Capital City. At the mayor's monthly press conference, Topeka City leaders discussed the ongoing work to clean up homeless camps near the Kansas River. MANHATTAN (KSNT) - The City of Manhattan is releasing a new plan Tuesday showing plans to develop its downtown area moving forward. The "Beyond Tomorrow Downtown Plan" (BTDP) was announced Tuesday, April 23, showcasing ideas for the development of the Little Apple's downtown. This plan is a successor to another put forth in 2000, "The Downtown Tomorrow Plan", according to the City of Manhattan's website. EMPORIA (KSNT) - A petition to save a city park in Emporia is prompting local leaders to take action Tuesday. The City of Emporia announced in a press release that it has reviewed the signatures attached to a petition to save Quaker Park. Locals rallied to save the park after learning the city planned to sell the property for new housing development.
