Trivially Speaking: Primrose Path leads to literature, movies and music
Loveland Reporter-Herald

Most mornings one of my early activities is to read the newspaper. I’m an old-fashioned guy and I like the paper in my hands, not online and definitely reported and edited by a reliable source. I’m well aware that Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and Truth Social are not credible purveyors of facts. This particular morning the article I was reading mentioned someone going down a “Primrose Path.” That’s not a term we read or hear much anymore as metaphors drift in and out of our slanguage. It piqued (and peaked) my curiosity so the Graduate Intern and I decided to chase it — as she spooks rabbits i ..read more

Last week, my calendar surged with doctor appointments. The kind where you go into the doctor’s office instead of doing a medical version of FaceTime. The week kicked off with an MRI — which was lovely since I had sedation for it. From what I can tell from the MRI report, it looks like the nerves in my neck are being compressed. Maybe that’s why I can’t move my fingers. Until recently, I never truly appreciated the handiness of our hands and fingers. I can’t unscrew or open cans and bottles, so my kitchen counter is a bounty of open containers. Ibuprofen, Die ..read more
