KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) -- The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office said the shooting death of a 12-year-old boy on Thursday was accidental by a sibling. The sheriff's office reports the incident happened on the 2600 block of Dean Drive in Kinston. They said that it happened just before 7 p.m. and involved a .22-caliber rifle. The boy was a student at Contentnea-Savannah School. Officials with the sheriff's office said there will be guidance counselors at the school Friday to assist students. They've received reports of two males driving a a burgundy van, and impersonating Town of Ahoskie employees. The light station, famous for its unique horizontal black and white stripes, is located at the northern end of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNCT) -- Possible changes proposed by the secretary of the Air Force could eliminate hundreds of jobs from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro. RALEIGH, N.C. (WGHP) — Multiple stores have been fined for scanning errors across North Carolina. The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Standards Division conducts periodic, unannounced inspections of price-scanner systems to check for accuracy. FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A student at Parkland High School in Forsyth County faces charges after video surfaced that appeared to show the student hitting a teacher repeatedly. The video, which had begun circulating on social media, shows a student walking up to his teacher, swearing, yelling and slapping the teacher in the face twice.
