KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) -- The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office said the shooting death of a 12-year-old boy on Thursday was accidental by a sibling. The sheriff's office reports the incident happened on the 2600 block of Dean Drive in Kinston. They said that it happened just before 7 p.m. and involved a .22-caliber rifle. The boy was a student at Contentnea-Savannah School. Officials with the sheriff's office said there will be guidance counselors at the school Friday to assist students. RALEIGH, N.C. (WGHP) — Multiple stores have been fined for scanning errors across North Carolina. The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Standards Division conducts periodic, unannounced inspections of price-scanner systems to check for accuracy.
