Hello all, first of all, I want to say a massive THANK YOU for reading these blogs. If you did not read them I'd be typing only or myself, which would not be fun! So... whu haven't there been any blogs recently? I tried to schedule in some posts but then the 3 weeks of exams seemed to be quite all-consuming. But, I'm back and should have a few more blogs written soon Thank you for your understanding God Bless ..read more

Later on this month we will think about the different aspects of God, focusing on his many names. However, let us think more importantly on how we can communicate with him. He is always there 'He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.' (Isaiah 40:28). Let's look at some core principles of God He is someone who loves to communicate with his chidren We will further look at this tomorrow; however, God is someone who we can talk to every hour of every day. He never sleeps and we can always talk to him. He is the great ruler God does not rule like the old emporers in ..read more

During this week, we are going to delve into the third part of our being, the spirit. The Free Dictionary puts it this way 'A force or principle believed to animate humans and often to endure after departing from the body of a person at death' We have already looked at the body, thinking about 'staying health' (catch up here) and then last week we thought about mental health, spending a week delving into the different aspects, (catch up here). As aformentioned, this week will focus on the last part of our human self 'the spirit'. During this week we will break down the blogs into 4 parts agai ..read more

So many people face the problem of abusing themselves in one way or another. Alcoholism, drugs, pornography, gambling, self-harm and even suicide. This post is not one of condemnation, rather one of love, understanding and support. I don't want you in any way shape or form to feel guilty and unworthy due to a problem you face. The truth is, we are all not worthy of God's saving grace. But your problem does not have to dictate your future. The things you do to abuse your body or mind may make you feel better in the near future but ultimately have a debilitating long-term effect. If you over do ..read more

Pressure- pressing down on me, pushing down on you

Pressure in a liquid is the same anywhere, at either end or in the middle, it is the same. The same can, unfortunately, be said about life, pressure for a perfect household, the pressure to not be a bad parent; pressure to fit in, the pressure to stand out. It seems that whatever anyone does these days comes under criticism from somewhere. When I was in school, I didn’t care about looking good or having the latest brands. However, when it came to grades, I needed to get the top in everything. If it wasn’t an A or A* I was greatly disappointed. The pressure I faced was mostly my own doing! I en ..read more

Yesterday we spoke on the theme of anxiety. To be honest, I didn't realise how much I wanted to say about it. So I have decided to do a week on it! So, yesterday we focused on when we hit the top of the peaks. If we look at the graph (left), we can see that yesterday we looked at the top left. Today we will look at the bottom left. Ok, so we all have times when we feel low. But what happens when this lasts? When this stays? Let me share a testimony from Testimony share I then was healed by the power of the Holy Spirit, and set free. I was back to my normal self again. God is doing wonderful t ..read more

The Who- Mental Health

Mental health, where do I start. It is a very big challenge and seems to become more prevalent in today's society. Is that because more people are facing challenges or because we are more willing to discuss it? I'll let you decide! Now, in this post I'm not going to say that I have 5 tips to a life with no ups and downs- that would be impossible, surely? We all have stresses crop up in life: moving house, getting a job, passing an exam. The list is endless. It is the same for feeling low. 'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about learning to dance in the rain'- Vivian Green S ..read more

The Who- Staying Healthy

Now, I'm no health guru, this post is not going to be like a women's' magazine where one page says to lose weight, the next says you must respect the person you are and the next be a page with a recipe for a fudgy chocolate cake! So what has being healthy got to do with the Bible? With God? 1 Corinthians 6:19 'Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;' 1 Corinthians 10:31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. So, your body is not your own and with whatever you e ..read more
