This was my first Elif Shafak’s book and to be honest, I loved this book and I’ll certainly read more of her books in the future.  The writing style and the way she narrated this whole story is just awesome and I connected with the story.  We follow the story of a prostitute named Tequila Leila who is now dead but her brain keeps on working for the next 10 minutes and 38 seconds. She recalls memories of her life, from her birth to a young child, to an adult, to her final breath.  “Many of which long forgotten.
