Welcome back to my crazy house blogs. New Blogs are coming your way with raw reality starting today. I am here to talk about the positives that I have learned being a mom to a now young adult with the career of his dreams on the spectrum despite the many challenges he has overcome to get there. I hear some parents say, “But my child can’t talk,” “My child needs self-care help,” or “My child is so aggressive,” or “overly sensitive,” and how their child “needs” to fit into society. In this case, it’s not entirely their fault why they think and feel this way because society and professionals tend ..read more

Welcome to my crazy house. Time has just been going by so fast lately. Between mom stuff, work stuff and the kitty and pugs, things get a little insane to say the least. I have been attempting this zen meditating thing that seems impossible and creatively keeping my ADHD brain busy enough to stay above water is exhausting. Being a parent with ADHD, or any mental health challenge for that matter, can definitely take a toll on your overall health and well-being. It’s always a catch-22. If you spend the day cleaning the house, catering to the kids and pets, the other areas of your daily life begi ..read more

Tammy And Her Crazy House

Welcome to my crazy house, a.k.a life; it’s definitely been some kind of whirlwind rollercoaster at full speed ahead. There have been sooooo many changes I don’t even know where to start! Okay, Okay I’ll try to start from the beginning, but… Ummm, wheres that!?! First, my eldest son has turned the rightful age of 18, well… legally speaking, anyway. Here in Ontario, that means you are officially an adult, and any post conditions magically disappear into thin air. Umm no. No, it does not the minute before his birthday and hasn’t changed to the moments after. Anywho, this is where my story begins ..read more

What Are Meltdowns Exactly?
Tammy And Her Crazy House

Welcome to my Crazy House, Today I thought I would talk about meltdowns and what exactly they are and how they affect ourselves or our children. Raising teens with additional needs as well as having ADHD myself, has taught me a few things that I’d love to share with you all. First off, let’s start with Tantrums! We all know what a Tantrum is. Or do we!?! Tantrums are usually common among younger children but not necessarily. To clarify, a tantrum is caused by impulses of needs and wants with a purpose. Often because you want your thought to become a reality without thinking it through. As adul ..read more

Welcome back to Tammy and her Crazy House. I thought I would talk about how to get the most out of your appointment or services and how to make it a positive experience for everyone. I have learned a lot through my autism parenting journey and I wanted to share how I get the most out of all our appointments. I recommend these tips to anyone; even yourself, parents, caregivers, or professionals. This is what we do… (watch a video instead) How We Plan Ahead… Mine are now 13 and 17 but I started doing this when my eldest was about 7 years old. The meltdowns going into an unknown was just crazy, t ..read more

Welcome back to my crazy house, OMG 2022 definitely started with a bang! that’s right the big bad C word bang, the new forbidden word no one wants to mention, but gossips about anyway. That’s right it hit our house and hit it hard. I am so thankful we were all vaccinated. I know there is a lot of debate on this topic but after experiencing it first hand I am confident that we did. I for one believe I would have landed in the hospital if I didn’t have that extra bit of immunity. It all started with just feeling tired. I had naturally summed it up as the after-holiday blues. You all know if you ..read more

Autism Awareness Month & 5 Autism Diagnosis That are no Longer Used Today!!

Happy World Autism Awareness Day!! April 2nd was officially declared World Autism Day in 2007 by the United Nations General Assembly. But the first actual day was on April 2nd, 2008. This date is important to me because my son was first diagnosed with autism around this time and this is when my journey to not only raise awareness but acceptance too began. Like most parents who hear the doctor utter the words “your child is on the autism spectrum”, your heart immediately drops in fear of the unknown and what will happen next, and what will the future hold. From then on I’ve been involved with A ..read more

Welcome back to my crazy house blog, Well let me tell you… It’s been a day! First off, I’m working on vlogging my 14 days of decluttering / self-love challenge that I attempt every Febuary!! Anypoo, you know, kids are not cooperating, pugs are getting into everything, and I’m having the worst cramps ever with this period. So… {scroll straight to the bottom for the recipe but you will miss the humour of all!} Anyway, I was vlogging about how I am decluttering my diet and trying to eat somewhat healthier and thought it would be fun to make a homemade butter video as a little addition. First off ..read more

Teens & Technology In LockDown!!

Welcome to my crazy house in LockDown!!! Yes, we have been fortunate enough, not to have been in this state of emergency up until now. But… Yea, Miss Corona has found us… We are doing great overall because we have been doing remote learning since last March. So routine for us hasn’t changed all that much. However, we are now in winter; yes, it’s a much warmer January than most years in eastern Ontario, but we still have a blanket of snow and ice everywhere, our Pugs just hate the cold and we can barely get them steps away from the bottom steps to pee. So walking the dogs has been pretty much n ..read more
