John Lobo, Shack Owner’s Welfare Society secretary made allegations that the shack owners have been harassed by the tourism department officials over minor discrepancies and demanding bribes. Lobo alleged that on the instructions of tourism minister Rohan Khaunte, they have been harassed every day throughout the season. “There is a place called ‘sopo’ at Guirim in Mapusa. The decision to launch an app-based taxi service by the Government of Goa was met with much opposition from many taxi drivers and owners.
