It was quite different and unusual scenes at the Sydney Cricket ground today for the 1st ODI of Chappell-Hadlee trophy between Australia and New Zealand, there was not a single spectator in the ground. Normally, the ground has a capacity of more than 45K, but today it was empty. Along with the blue sky, the stadium was also looking blue with empty chairs. And this was not because of any normal reason, it was a precaution taken by the Australian government to ban any public gathering of more than 500 people. India and New Zealand are going to clash in the T20 Women’s world cup today in Melbourne, which is called as the top of the table clash. India has won both of their past clashing convincingly defeating both Australia and Bangladesh. On the other side, New Zealand just got over Srilanka in a close game. In the last 5 games between these 2 teams, NZ has come up better than Indian, winning 3 out of 5 in their home conditions. Australian conditions are very similar to that of NZ, so they should fancy their chances in today’s game. At the same time in the last T20 world cup, India defeated NZ by 34 ..read more

Blackcaps kick-off their summer test season at Basin Reserve, Wellington. They take on India in the 2 match series, before India completes their long tour on New Zealand. It’s going to be a special day for Ross Taylor as he would take the field for 100th time as a Blackcaps. That’s one of those achievements which every test playing player dreams to achieve when he starts playing test cricket. Ross Taylor would become just the 4th NZ player to achieve this.
