Explaining our emotions to our children
The Stevenson Life

I’ve mentioned before that music is a big part of my / our lives. I really struggle to sit in silence, and music helps my concentration when I’m trying to work. It’s also something that has quite a big impact on my emotions, and I can easily change my mood based on the songs I’m listening to. This week, Adele released her new album, and I thought I’d give it a listen. Straight away, one song jumped out at me, to the point where I was genuinely wiping away tears (yeah, men cry too you know) Firstly, since becoming parents, Ashleigh and I have always tried to be very open and honest with Grayso ..read more

The Beautiful Wanderer Kevil Watch
The Stevenson Life

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a bit of a thing for a good watch (or in some instances, a bad watch!). Working with the amazing Trendhim, I’ve been given the opportunity to review the stunningly beautiful Wanderer Kevil Watch. The Wanderer Kevil Watch As I’ve grown older (yes, I’m feeling older), I’ve started to appreciate the finer things in life. I’m no longer wanting to purchase cheap and cheerful options, instead I’ll save and buy the products that might last long enough for me to enjoy using them (with the exception of socks, then I complain when they’re all full of holes soon a ..read more

The Stevenson Life

Disclaimer – I was gifted these items from IDentity Lingerie in return for a review, but all thoughts and opinions included are our own. You can read more of our reviews and opinions here. IDentity Lingerie I think that most of you can probably agree that the dream (other than to win the lottery), is having clothes that make you look amazing and feel amazing. As I get older, and since becoming a mum, my relationship with my body and confidence has changed significantly compared to when I was younger. So I’m always looking for anything that I feel comfortable in, but that also leaves me feelin ..read more

Potty Training – How Grayson is getting on.
The Stevenson Life
by Mark

Before I get in to too much detail here – if you’re a parent / carer, please, know that potty training happens at whatever age your child is ready for it. There’s no right or wrong time, and no need to worry if your child isn’t there yet. Our experience with Grayson will be, like all childhood experiences, unique to us and Grayson. Embrace it, don’t panic, and very much go with the flow (no pun intended here, but there was a bit of flowing!) When is the right time? We’d always agreed that we would potty train Grayson when we thought he was ready. There was never a “by 2, he’ll be using the po ..read more

Family Friendly Festivals – Our great experiences
The Stevenson Life
by Mark

Grayson experienced his 3rd “big” festival this year, as we took our annual (well, apart from last year, thanks Covid) pilgrimage to Latitude Festival a couple of weeks ago. We’re a huge fan of Latitude, for a few reasons, but mainly now, because it’s one of the family friendly festival, which means we can safely bring Grayson and he can enjoy all aspects of festival life from an early age. So here are our thoughts on Family Friendly Festivals. Back story For those that don’t know – me and Ashleigh have a bit of a history with Latitude. It was the first festival we went to together, and more ..read more

Disclaimer – We were gifted this Bespoke Murder Mystery package in return for a review, but all thoughts included are our own. You can read more of our reviews and opinions here Like a lot of the general public, during lockdown and Covid intense times, we were often looking for ways to stay connected with our friends and family. Norwich City, BK8 and Sexism in Football
The Stevenson Life

I don’t often talk about football related things, in general now, as I always worry that what I say might get taken hugely out of context and cause me potential issues at work. But with this, sexism in sports, I’m happy to talk about it, because it needs talking about. Let’s talk about BK8. Disclaimer, of course, these views and opinions are mine, and absolutely not related to my employer in any way. *For the purpose of this post, I do not share any of the content mentioned from BK8. I’d advise you not to search for it, because it’s absolute trash. It’s easy enough to find should you wish to ..read more

Mental Health – during (and after) the Pandemic
The Stevenson Life
by Mark

I never used to talk about my Mental Health – primarily due to my lack of understanding about what my brain was actually doing, but also because of the stigma associated to it. This week is Mental Health Awareness Week – and I wanted to take a look about what’s changed for me during the Pandemic, in relation to my mental health and wellness. I posted about my own experience with mental illness this time last year – you can read that here if you’re interested. In this post, I just wanted to think about about the past 18 months, what’s changed for me, and what it means as we (thankfully, hopefu ..read more

5 Reasons Why We Love Readly
The Stevenson Life
by Mark
3y ago
Like so many others, I spend a lot of time online. The last year has meant that socialising has been basically non-existent, so we’ve all had to come up with new ways to keep ourselves entertained at home. Those of you who know me, know that reading isn’t something I’ve ever really enjoyed, or got in to – because I won’t let my mind switch off enough to enjoy it. Well, not any more! My friend introduced me to Readly, and I haven’t looked back since. What is Readly? Readly is an online platform and app that gives you unlimited access to 5000 publications. Knowing my concentration levels are po ..read more
