It is an old establishment and I tried it when my previous workplace was at Gateway. That's a good many years ago. There's two stalls in this coffeeshop. One that sells the fried fritters (ngoh hiang or wu xiang) and the other one that sells prawn noodles. It is a good pair, and I'd totally recommend to order both. Stand at the front of the queue line and once the staff take notice of you, he'll quickly assign a table. Move on and take a seat. Remember the table number as you'll need that info when ordering from the prawn noodles stall. Is it worth it to get the bigger prawns version at $12 ..read more

The shop front looked like a quaint shop, and a window for passerby to take in the view of their wonderful bakes. I wanted to get some pastry/cakes for my late lunch / tea-break after a heavy breakfast and was around the Kampong Glam area. When I was there, I saw a small group of tourist with their local guide standing outside of the shop, and the guide was explaining a little bit about the shop. From the outside, I could see that there are about 4 pax in the shop (excluding the shop staff) choosing their breads, so I went in to do the same.  Then I realised that the shop space is real ..read more

Saw this place from JPassport and decided to give it a try. Usually, I tend to steer clear from places that are new new and this place seemed like it with just 5 reviews on Google. Decided to make a reservation for early lunch. The place is located at Level 3 of 100AM mall but discovered that they weren't ready even at opening time of 11.30am. shop front It's quite a big space and there was only one staff doing the opening (cleaning up, arranging utensils, placing glasses into the fridge etc). menu drink culture at an izakaya We were finally seated and the shop ..read more

Lunch Restoran Nasi Ayam Kam Kee We were supposed to check out by 1230pm, so went over to this chicken rice shop that's just nearby to the famous Michelin Bib one, which we also tried before some years back. My sis says Kam Kee is not bad, so here we are to have a quick lunch before we head back to our hometown. shop front menu The shop seems to be specializing in kampong chicken, but we didn't order that because my parents (and myself too!) are getting on with age, and we prefe ..read more

Last visited in 2018, so let's go gai-gai and rekindle the Petaling Street experience! Here's what we had for Day 1. Breakfast Tang City Food Court There were only dim sum, Myanmar food kiosk, fish paste noodles, prawn noodles, roasted meat rice, economic rice available when we visited in the morning. No prize for guessing which was my choice. The coffeeshop staff are quick to come by to get your drinks order first. I ordered a kopi-gao but it tasted pretty much like regular ones. kopi gao One can order at the stall and they will send over the food when it is ready. Pay when ..read more

What birthday girl wants, birthday girl gets. Um Yong Baek seemed to be the trendy place to dine at, somewhat. Rumors of long queues seemed true from the recent experience. The two outlets; Telok Ayer and Boon Tat Street are pretty close to each other. Telok Ayer outlet before the shop opens One should go online on the day of visit, and get a queue number. Thanks to Tiara, we were lucky to be placed in the first batch of diners to go in once the shop opens at 11am. Perhaps that was because we visited on a weekday. At approximately, 10:45am, Tiara received an email notifica ..read more
