Google confirmed it has fired 20 additional workers that it says were involved in protests last week in NYC and Sunnyvale, CA, denouncing the tech giant’s cloud computing deal with the Israeli government, bringing the total number of workers fired to 50 (per CNN). The Department of Justice (‘DOJ’) announced on Wednesday said that a civil settlement had been reached with the victims of ex-Team USA doctor Larry Nassar, who was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison for sexually assaulting gymnasts — resolving their claims of wrongdoing against the FBI in its failures to investigate allegations of sexual abuse. Laura Dern, Billy Crudup and Riley Keough have been cast in Noah Baumbach’s next, as-yet-untitled Netflix film. Dern, who won as Oscar for her role in Baumbach’s Marriage Story, joins previously announced stars Adam Sandler and George Clooney. President Joe Biden marked Earth Day by announcing $7 billion in federal grants for residential solar projects serving 900,000-plus households in low- and middle-income communities while visiting Prince William Forest Park in Virginia on Monday to mark Earth Day. Clothing retailer Express, the parent of the Bonbons and UpWest brands, announced on Monday that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will be closing 95 stores (including all of its UpWest stores) with closing sales spanning across more than 30 states and Washington, D.C. to begin on Tuesday. Police are investigating the shooting death of an 18-year-old on the campus of Delaware State University early Sunday morning. According to Dover Police, officers responded at about 1:40 a.m. to a report of shots on the campus’ freshman dorm, Warren-Franklin Residential Hall; upon arriving at the scene, they located an 18-year-old woman who was not a registered student who had been shot in the upper body. Disney+ announced they will release a restored version of the Beatles film Let It Be, announcing in a press release that the film will premiere May 8 Per Billboard, the film chronicling the final days of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr will be available for the first time in more than 50 years when it airs exclusively on Disney+ on May 8. The musical Sunset Boulevard is headed to Broadway in the fall, marking the Broadway debut of singer/actress Nicole Scherzinger in the title role of Norma Desmond. Scherzinger starred in the West End revival of the production in London, which ran from September 2023 through January 2024. Two young siblings were killed when an intoxicated driver crashed into a Michigan business where a child’s birthday party was being held over the weekend.  Per CNN, An 8-year-old girl and her 5-year-old brother were killed, and at least nine others were seriously injured at the party at a boat club in Newport, Michigan, on Saturday when a driver drove through the building where the celebration was taking place.
