Mum & Son Adventures

In the UK, we have just reached the end of our first week in lockdown due to the Coronavirus. We are working from home, we are home schooling and we are adapting to a new way of family life while trying to stay safe. I haven’t posted on my blog since the 8th of January. It’s strange to think how different the world feels since then! I want to start by saying, we are all different and we are all simply doing the best we can right now in such difficult times. Lets not stress about who is doing this thing better, because there is absolutely no ‘right’ way we should be doing this. Other than stick ..read more

However, Tommy Turner’s Battle for Yorintown by Ali Seegar has captured both mine and Nathan’s attention this summer. We have been intrigued to continue reading. The story follows Tommy Turner’s adventures time-travelling in an ancient Maya city in a race against time to save an alien planet. Wellness – The Word of the Year 2020
Mum & Son Adventures

Welcome to the start of a new year and a new decade! 2020 is open for so many possibilities! Instead of setting new year’s resolutions though, why not select a word of the year instead? I read recently that almost 80% of people do not stick to their new years resolutions. I find that resolutions tend to come from a negative place. They centre around stopping doing something or changing who you are. That negative mindset is not welcome in this decade. Therefore, this year I have chosen a word of the year, which is becoming a popular concept. Your word of the year is about your intentions, it’s ..read more

[GIFTED – Please note we were gifted 2 complimentary books published by Ruby Tuesday Books which feature in this post] As parents we can often shy away from discussing certain topics with our children. This could be because we don’t know how to answer their questions with age appropriate responses. Or simply because it makes us a feel a little uncomfortable. Talking to our children, openly and honestly is important if we want to raise people who understand the world around them. If we want to raise children who stand up for themselves and others, who know right and wrong and are confident with ..read more
